I am amazed at the size of todays monstrosities, motorhomes and huge fifth wheels, when this was enough for normal campers even with larger families!

I talked to Corey today. Shasta is not willing to make any custom units. But we have put a deposit down on a yellow one today. My CFO(My Wife) has OK'd the purchase. This is going to be our 25th wedding anniversary gift. Ace in PA.

I'm so glad people are making these retro trailers. When my father died out in California in 2001 I had to go out there from Texas to take care of some stuff and he had an original Shasta trailer just like this in the backyard. I would have loved to a brought it back to Texas but I think it had the original tires as they were petrified other than that it was in remarkably excellent shape I just had no way to bring it back too bad!

Absolutely AWESOME job! When I was a kid, I rode in my Uncle's Ford Ranchero towing one of these from Colorado Springs to Haines, Alaska - and back. A trip I'll NEVER forget. Over 1000 miles of gravel road in those days between Dawson Creek and Haines Junction. I LOVE how carefully you have designed and upgraded this wonderful old trailer. And in this day and age the #A1++ feature that I LOVE is WINDOWS!! Windows that actually OPEN! What a concept in this day and age of what my wife and I call "windowless wonders". We currently have and keep in shape a 1985 Wilderness that we love. It looks years newer than it actually is - inside and out. I've been told that it is no longer possible to provide actual Jalousie type opening windows with the current NHTSA code standards. You have obviously put the LIE to that excuse for not providing real windows! You are to be complemented a thousand times over. If I were in the market for a new trailer I would take one of these any day of the week and twice on Sunday in preference to most all of what's out there today!

My husband & I have an original 1959 Shasta, in seafoam green. The beautiful woodwork makes it feel like a cozy little cabin. People either think it's really cool & want to check it all out, or they don't get it at all & want to know why we don't remove the 'wings'. Some folks will never understand! The reissue is great, nice job. Gotta admit I wanted to see a little princess oven in there though.

I’d love to get one of these. It’s great to see some style coming back to travel trailers. The trailer I really want is from the 30s I think and if I can ever find one I’ll definitely bring it back to original condition. One of these though will be a great substitute until I can find an original model that I can’t even remember the manufacturer name at the moment but I have a video on the history of Rv and travel trailers that shows it .

This is my favorite little camper trailer I've seen so far! Perfect layout and such a cute design. I would love the turquoise one. Only thing is, I'd switch out the microwave for a 4way toaster oven. Maybe even add a small flip-up table to the side of the kitchen counter (additional prep space or could be used as an "office" for the couch.) Other than that... If I had the money I'd buy it right now!! Also, loved the tour.. he made me LOL a few times!

That repro trailer looked a lot more roomy than many of today's trailers of about the same size with a better lay out. I think my only real kvetch is where the window is in the bathroom. I would have mounted it much higher up on the wall for better privacy. I personally would go with a smaller dinette and extend the counter just a little bit more and widen the sink some. I like the idea of the jealousy glass windows. You can have some ventilation even if it rains. I love to leave the windows open during a nice little rain storm. Because the glass slats slant open, rain wont easily come in. I wish I had that feature on my apartment windows. I hope you make some more again.

After the Monroe, WA. RV show yesterday I said to my husband, "why doesn't Shasta just make a retro trailer since the small ones are so popular", to our utter surprise we googled you and BEHOLD our dream has come true! The only thing we wish for is the sofa in the back to pull out to a bed for two adults? wasn't sure if that does that? Let us know and we are on it!!! WASHINGTON needs a sea foam green Shasta running behind our family!! AWESOME JOB!!! It just occurred to me that today's "magazine's" are actually tablets, ipads, cell phones etc,... it would be too cool if the magazine rack had a couple of charging ports in it or USB docks with a few unique apps to monitor and manage the unit like temperature, tanks, tv, music and whatever else. That would make for some very cool mods. can't get over how much I like this unit and I'd get mine in yellow and tow it with our yellow jeep..

Sweet looking Shasta travel trailer. If you're going to reissue a classic look and feel of a classic travel trailer, this is the way to do it. While at the same time upgrading certain things to make it safer and more up-to-date for today's traffic. When it comes to travel trailers, I believe that form follows function. We all want something that's attractive to look at, I know I do. But I also believe that nothing should be installed unless there's a functional purpose to it. Good work! :)

I just bought a 1961 Shasta 16 SCS. in pretty good shape. I brought it home and Parked it in my friends yard... and 2 weeks later some Drunk drives up into the yard.... AFTER hitting a light-pole and crashed into the side of it. Bent the axle and did some sheet metal damage to it, all fixable... but JEEZE! Damn thing went almost 50 YEARS without an accident... and some schmuck has to drive into the Yard to hit it! Now, Im debating on selling it or fixing it. Ive never restored a Travel Trailer before. and I was going to use it to buy some land up in the Smoky Mtns and live in it till I got a house built. Im sure I wont have any problem selling it. This model is pretty rare and sought after. No way I could afford a 2015 Retro.

talk about memories! My mom and dad had one of these and almost every weekend possible we took it up to Lake Wisconsin and camped in it.. That thing got more use than you can imagine.. I can remember rain storms while in it.. breakfast meals... wow .. I would love to own one just to have it.. But the wife says no since we just got a 32 foot, 1998 Four winds Windsport RV.... I tried to convince her even so... but alas she won't budge.. LOL... BTW, if you want a real nice RV, we got this one by doing a LOT of searching.. Bought it from a dealer, obviously used, for $5500! Only problem found is the genset carb is bad so that has to be fixed.. Everything else though works great... including the wasp nest I found! :-)

Yowza! I sooo remember these! I thought I wanted a little airstream but this is actually more of what I remembered. Except that lamp above the dinette needs to be propane! You need to hear that noise when you're playing cards late at night with the crickets, and the papers. You know that noise that a propane lamp makes... Wooooossshhhhh.. Nice and low, but constant, thrumming and burning like a small sun, luring the moths to their death and me to a drowsy, slow nap in the corner of the dinette, too lazy to make up the bed. The last thing i remember before I fell asleep is wondering how cold the lake will be in the morning, and will She be there? Is it possible that she was serious about meeting just before Dawn? I don't know what I believed would really happen, but of course I wanted it to. I also knew it shouldn't, but I couldn't help myself. She was two whole years older than me, 17 if you can believe it! I was only in 10th grade, and to me she was a goddess. I knew that somewhere, in a part of my brain, that I was very curious to see what a goddess looked like rising naked from the water at sunrise and I was going to see thing through, even if I was scared out of mind and unable to fall asleep.

if I bought one of these I'd prefer to have the original propane light.. I find them to be the perfect heater for most of the year where I live... most propane heaters I've used are too hot to keep running.. the lamps are perfect to knock the chill away without over heating.. back in the 80's I had an 18 foot trailer,, there was a propane lamp in the front above the table and one in the back above the bed.. I used them for heat until we got the few weeks where temp went below freezing.. then they weren't quite warm enough..

As a native Floridian, jalousie windows were in my grandpa's house, most relative's homes. I noticed a comment saying it's pronounced with a zhao..since when? I thought. Maybe my modest southern folks didn't know better so had to check. Jal-o-see. Where this gentleman is from, may say it like jealousy. When someone needs to do an American accent, just like the Brits, you have to ask from what area! Jalousie is the French word for jealousy. It originated in 18th century France from the Italian word geloso, which means jealous, or screen, as in to screen something from view. Supposedly because of their slatted louvres, jalousie windows protect the interior of the house from jealous peering eyes. And rain pretty much. Happy 2020 all! New resolutions? Don't judge a book by its cover, ban ageism and know if you choose to serve God, it is pleasing to God no matter what day it is, the way you choose, no matter your clothing and you, as a mere human, can judge harshly, know that God will judge you in the same way. Peace be with you. 🍃🕊🍃

So, I'm in the UK and a company over here has imported a few of these for sale. I spotted it on ebay. Been on for awhile. Down from just under 19 thousand pounds to just under 16 thousand. I love the American retro look with the modern conveniences. Really interested to see this because of my interest in the one for sale over here. Pics aren't really enough. I think the reason it hasn't sold so far is the same reason alot of American caravans (trailers) don't is that if there is a problem, who and how can it be resolved? What about spares etc? Warranty? It's a bloody shame because I'd love one of these. I camp alot. Off grid mostly, so I get alot out of owning one. Also, and lastly, the UK has different mains voltage, sockets, 12v electrics, and towing specifications so it's not practical to import one myself. I see alot of American caravans that look amazing but US manufacturers won't make them here or sell them. Damn shame if you ask me. A missed opportunity. Oh well! ☹

Wow, this is gorgeous! The vintage car seals the deal and the show!!! So deliciously retro. You did a phenomenal job of recreating the Shasta. Truly incredible, very well done! Its tasteful, true to original, modernized, and so light, Real winner here. By the way... The windows are JALOUSIE not JEALOUSY. Jalousie windows have horizontal slats. The word Jalousie is French, which comes from the Italian word 'gelosia', which comes from Greco-Latin 'zelōsu'. This word in all languages means Jealousy. By looking out of these slats, you can see, but cannot be seen, as you would if you were jealous of someone and spying on them. So now that you know the word and its origins, please pronounce it correctly.
