@1Wayfix Yup. Last night. Like a dummy, he just drove it until it quit. Luckily, he made it to my exit so I just put a battery in it and he drove it to my place.

@1Wayfix The light was still on. We installed an AGM battery back in November. It's taking a good charge right now. I'm gonna go look at some wiring. It's likely the alt, but I want to be sure it's not just a corroded wire.

This happened to me. I changed the alternator and forgot to unplug the battery. This saved me from changing the alternator thinking it was faulty.

Did you test to see if the car would still run without the battery being connected? This way you know the alternator is bad.

Check if you got 12v at the red wire. On the alternator side. First.

#1Check you serpentine belt. Maybe is to old. #2. Check. Check you air filter #3. Check you. Throttle body if is not dusty If everything check fine. Then the check. The battery. Terminals Then take you battery to check. If everything check fine. So. 90% you alternador. Will be. Not working. Right

When you test the mega fuse terminals are you lead wire tester on terminals and ground on positive

All depends. What tester u using. If you using. The power prove 3 like me. The tester. Has. Negative and positive leads. And i hook them. The way the go. Negative to negative y red. To positive. 👀👀👀➡️➡️if you using. The regular tester. That comes with only 1. Lead. So. You need to put that. Lead on the negative side. And the other. Side. Of the tester where lights up. U use. That. Side to put it on The. Side. Of the mega fuse. To see if you getting power. Check. Both sides. On Bots sides. Should have power. Let me know. 😀

@@1Wayfix was using a fluke multimeter. You had red, black clips on the battery, and your one wire meter. Threw me for a loop. I tested mine with the acc key position on and got 10.86 volts on all the mega fuse terminals. I changed the battery which was original only 77k miles on it . Was probably fine as it didn't solve the issue for me. I couldnt see where to test my alternator as you did. But I also don't think that I'm gonna stick my arm in there with the engine running. I think the mega fuse would be a good indication of the state of the wires and alternator. What do you think?

@@kojuggalo. If you using the fluk. Put it. The voltmeter. On 12v. Reading. Then put the black lid. On the negative terminal of the battery. And then the red one. On each terminal of the. Mega fuse

@@kojuggalo. You ahould have. 12.xx volts. On all 3 terminals of the mega fuse. If you got. 10v. Ot less U have a short. Maybe. In the mega fuse . If you got 10v. Or less. To be. Sure. Remove the mega fuse and open it. Like i did. To see if is not blow. Just a little bit. Sometimes happen.
