I'd go with the CR-V or CX-5. Dependable reliable, and both drive nice. I have an accord sport witth the same power train and it's smooth and refined. My step sister has the CX-5 and it's a great package too.

I don't really understand why you would pit the Outlander Sport against the others given that it's a subcompact SUV, but chose to omit the Rav4 and the Forester, among others.

I wanted a Sportage to replace my flawless Kia Optima but the fuel mileage with the standard powertrain and visibility issues caused me to buy a CRV EX-L. I have no regrets and my 2nd. choice was a Forester.

Saad Qureshi The porsche is over styled and the interior reminds me of a spaceship! It took me 5 min just to find out how to open tha back seat door and roll down the window. Mercedes hasn't done anything new in the past 5 years, there cars are just as boring and offer little to nothing other then the name. BMW x3 needs a redesign and again there goes that value for the money. The Audi q5 is so overpriced its not even funny not to mention the company is caught lying about something every 5 min and they cost an arm and a leg to repair. Had to pay 1500 for one shock absorber.

Micah, this comparison just isn't fair. The Mitsubishi Outlander sport is 172" (subcompact). It's closer to the hrv (169") than the crv (179"). The Outlander (184") is closer to the crv and IS a compact SUV. But because it has 3 rows, it's lumped with the mid sized suvs. Pilot is 194". Call a spade a spade. The outlander is the ONLY compact SUV with a V6 (GT) and a 3 row. I don't see the pros call a Nissan rogue a mid sized and it's only 2" shorter than the outlander.

The Mitsu is also garbage. I predict that Mitsubishi will leave the North American market within the next 10 years. They may be the least interesting and least desired brand in America today, despite the fact that they used to sell some decent cars.

I have the 2015 CR-V Touring. Other than a few quality short comings, the CR-V is quite the value package. I got the Touring trim becuase I wanted the fancy wheels. In person, they are sharp! It does have the "vibration" issue but I knew this ahead of time and it's not a huge issue. Overall you get value and a comfy interior for not a lot of money. And the infotainment system and dash buttons are not hard to use, you just need to learn to use them and you are fine. And people complain about there being no volume knob - that's why you have the button on the steering wheel; it's plenty big!

I was going to buy the Mazda CX 5, but what turned me off was the very high running costs. It's required very expensive maintenance plans every 4 months or 5000 miles. The KIA is much cheaper to maintain, with longer periods between maintenance schedules. I am going to test drive the KIA now.

Sequoia is a true SUV!!! Sequoia is the best SUV money can buy, because it's the most reliable and people will never have an issue with turbos because there's none, and people will never have carbon build up because it doesn't have direct injection like competitors. It's not rice burner with turbo. It's not a Prius with Auto start/stop. It's not a iPhone on wheels that needs to reset by the dealer every 6 months and replaced every couple years because of the issues. It's reliable SUV that can go 500k miles without touching engine or transmission. Also, it's simple, reliable, comfortable and holds it's value better than any other SUV. Great on gas for its size. I have one and love it.

Even the "dated" Forester is still competitive in this field, and is a top seller. Since KBB tested a $40k Escape, then a $34k Forester XT would not be unfair to stack against this others. Omitting it and the Rav4, which is also just mildly refreshed this year as the Outlander and CX5, makes us wonder how they all compare. Who was the winner anyways?

Let me review them fo yo ass. the charokee is great, powerful and luxurious with its optional ventilated seats. It is also the only true off roader in the... oh it fell apart. The rav 4's stylling has been updated so it has some flair to it. LOLz but that shit still "an SUV". The forester is crap. The engine sounds like a dump i took 6 days ago after indian AND mexican food, and due to the CVT revs like my lawn mower (or worse). The tiguan is being redone next year so who cares. The rogue has some styling to it but it does come with a third row. also it has a CVT so it is my lawn mower. The equinox's best quality is allowing me to get the letter "Q" from its name when i am playing the letter game with my family on long trips

Why are you telling lies? I mean you comments on the Outlander Sport engine and fuel economy? Compare it to the KIA Sportage with LESS horsepower and the same fuel economy! Second row of seats has more room for the occupant's legs than at least half the vehicles shown in this comparison. And last: folding the 2nd row of seats makes a much flatter floor than the KIA which you mention. Rear armrest with integrated cup holder is standard on the Outlander Sport but you fail to mention it while praising it as a super cool feature of the KIA Sportage.

Ali Goshi you should go test drive each and do some research on reliability. i go to Truedelta.com to check for reliability and Google reviews. I test drove the mazda, rouge and the escape . to me the rouge was a better over all package for my needs
