I want to get a lens replacement for green lights instead of the manufacture lights that came built in to my 2017 m6 touring but I can’t find anything on the web, do u happen to know where I may be able to find it and get that original stuff switched out??

can these lenses be removed with heat? A lot of cars nowadays seem to have a different adhesive that won't bulge with heat, the housing bends before

How did you separate the lens from the light? It looks like you cut it 😮

I did cut it. No sense in wasting time for parts that are already heavily damaged. If you want to replace a lens or put everything back together, then you have to heat up the light/melt the glue. At that point you can pull the lens from the body. You have to be careful not to melt the lens or housing.

If I only need to replace the lens (shattered due to flying debris on the road), is it possible to just get a halogen unit and use a heat gun to swap out the lens, or are they completely different styles?

they are normally the same. it's pretty rare that a manufacturer makes a different shaped headlight for different models. As far as I know the materials are the same, but it could be possible that xenon headlights use a different plastic than halogen lights. The only time I have seen differences is when the halogen light has the turn signal in a different location, sometimes they will put a different bump in the lens to be located in the same physical location for each light.

If I buy a whole LED headlight for my Mazda 6 2016 (used), does the headlight have the AFS module inside? I mean, I don't need to buy another AFS module, right?

The swivel left and right motors are internal to the light. The leveling up down is attached the back the housing.

@@gftgrill I'm asking because I crash my right headlight 2 months ago, the low and high beams still work fine but the DRL led lights don't (the "U form" LED), then I got an AFS signal indicator on the dashboard. A went to the Mazda dealer/agency, and they told me I need to buy another whole headlight and also an AFS module. In your video I see you disassemble the AFS from inside the headlight, so I'm guessing that if I get another headlight, It will come with his respective AFS module and I won't need to buy anothcer one like Mazda told me. Or I don't know if the AFS module they are refering is another part in other location on the car. Also Mazda told me they never open headlights to try to repair or change pieces of them, and I need a new headlight complete.... The thing is they want me to charge me the AFS and maybe I don't need it.....

@@axllahio22 Inside of the headlight is a motor that makes the light turn left/right. On the outside of the headlight is a motor that makes the light go up and down. Mazda does not offer either of these parts individually and requires you to buy a whole headlight. Did they check the leveling sensors? Not mentioned in video, Can yellow corner side reflector easily get replaced by white one, is it melted or glued onto the frame?

I don't remember it being welded into place. I think it's replaceable.

Do you know where I can find all the LED lights to rebuild my headlight? My lights went bad and I can’t find headlight replacements for the Grand Touring. Please help!

as far as I know, you cannot purchase the LEDs for these lights. You have to buy an entire replacement headlight or buy a working damaged light and swap the parts.

I have a 2016 mazda 6 with AFS , just the lens on the driver side is shattered. Is there a way i could just replace just the lens, I cannot find the exact driver side headlight with AFS.

If you can find a donor light with a good lens, you could swap it, but it would generally be easier to buy a whole headlight and swap the whole thing. You cannot purchase the lens only.

@@prithvic6776 I think so, but I'm not familiar enough to know if the lenses are 100 percent the same or if the base halogen version has some minor variation.

It’s 8 diodes in total right, the low and high beam LED component look the same….

Yes, 4 each for a total of 8. I'm not sure if they are the exact same, but they were very similar in size and shape. There is not a fan for the high beam LED, whereas there is for a low beam. It's possible that the engineering assumption is that the low beam will run for much longer periods of time and the high beams will not be used long enough to overheat.

Can the main bulbs be replaced on this model or do I need to buy a complete unit?

The LED are built into the main projector. If you had a replacement, you would have to open the headlight. For most people it's easier to just replace the headlight. The LEDs cannot be replaced without opening the headlight. There is no built in access to projector.

I have never seen tinted projector lenses. I have only seen LED halos to make the projector lens a certain color or use specific color light bulbs. I do not recommend green lights for street use
