SH-AWD is torque vectoring, so it needs you to give it throttle to work. If you throw the car into a turn and stomp the accelerator, it will turn like a bat out of hell, with ZERO understeer.

I'm so happy you did another review on the Acura TLX V6 AWD... it makes me happy cause i currently own a 2016 TLX V6 Tech Pkg my only regret was not getting AWD that AWD system is so amazing! I have had my car for almost 2 years now and I have loved it its peppy and quick for daily use! I bought it at 66k miles and now im sitting at alittle over 90k miles. Its sleek and the body lines look good! My only qualms with my TLX is that the infotainment screen can be distracting sometimes with half the climate control buttons being on the screen, also the ZF9 transmission definitely has its faults and the gear searching at low speeds have annoyed me abit. Outside of that I love the car..... however I will be moving on to a TLX Type-S in a few months as I realize that I have to have AWD for the area I live in where the weather can be sunny one day and snowy the next.

AWD is great but at least u don’t have to do the rear-differential fluid about every few oil changes. I have an intake and straight piped the exhaust and it helped the car feel way more responsive.

Had a 17 TLX SH AWD for almost 3 years. Handling is good, transmission is awful. Wouldn’t recommend a v6 model due to transmission alone. Car was having issues due to the idle stop start and VCM, cylinder deactivation.

I am a huge fan of V6 Acura sedans with the SH-AWD system. We had a 2005 RL for 8 years, all the way up to this February, when we had to finally get rid of it at 240k miles due to electrical issues that we couldn’t figure out. Now I don’t know a whole bunch on this TLX, but I am very familiar with the RL’s as being Acura’s flagship sedan. Very luxurious, quiet, and ahead of it’s time if you read into it. Proper 300 hp V6 that cruises nicely on the highway. 0-60 not bad- it’s average in comparison to regular cars on the road at 6.3-6.4 sec, but it’s a heavy luxury car so that’s fine. At the higher speeds is where these things are really smooth tho. These new turbo 4 cylinders we see from Audi are definitely quick, but they don’t push very hard past 80 mph. For a V6 that’s where it’s the best, at 80-100 mph

and I am one of those guys who couldn't care less about how fast they are--I have the Boxer 6 in my Subaru, but it is as fast as I care to go AND is a little tractor in the snow AND, got 30 mph on my recent trip, that included mountains. @@MeynMotorGroup definitely, I drove the refreshed model (A-Spec) V6 & loved how it drove. & from what I understand, Acura tweaked the ZF transmission (physically & software-wise) a lot to make better use of the J35 power-band for quicker acceleration in all situations (with faster & smoother shifting). I also drove the 2.4L 4-cylinder with the Acura/Honda 8-Speed DCT. It makes perfect use of the K24 power and & shifts lightning ⚡️ quick/smooth. I wish they would’ve put that 8-speed with the upcoming Integra with the 1.5L turbo 4… now that would’ve been epic for sure. Have you driven the newer TLX Type-S? If you did I’ll be watching your video on it soon.

Sadly in Australia Honda refused to offer a V6 option for the Accord Euro (Japanese made Acura sedans). We got stuck with 2.4L before Honda axed it entirely. Not only did we miss out on V6, but we also missed the turbo-charged V6 in the TLX Type S. all we have now is pathetic 1.5L engines

i bought a 2015 TLX w/ SH-AWD. It had 46k when i bought it in January and i've put about 2k miles on it. Car came w/ an AEM intake installed and the induction noise is intoxicating, i gotta say, especially at 5k when the V-TEC switches over. Coming from an e90 BMW, the build quality is top notch, very solidly built. I have the same beef w/ the ZF. Especially coming from a car w/ a 6sp ZF which was tuned way better. Its kinda sloppy, i gotta admit. Overall, im very happy with the TLX, its my first Honda product. My next car will probably be the next generation TLX.

When these came out I had an 04 TSX so I test-drove the 2.4 version of this and later the 3.5. The v6 car felt slow, and the increased weight up front made me prefer the more balanced feeling 2.4 model. Their excellent DCT they had was a missed opportunity in the v6 TLX you drove and even more so in the new Integra.
@jasonm58842 жыл бұрын
I chose the 3.5L despite the transmission, the strong V6 Hondas made are legendary with the VTECH, with the option to get great gas mileage. I loved the peppy 2.4L being a previous 05’ TSX owner but the body of the TLX feels like it’s made for the V6. The ILX puts the 2.4L in a sweet spot feeling like I’m driving the newer vision of the 1st-2nd gen TSX. The steering feel and body is very appropriate for the 4 cylinder

Before I acquired my current 21 TLX A-Spec, I had both the 16 TLX 3.5 PAWS and later a 19 TLX 3.5 PAWS. Both were great cars being well built with quality materials. Likewise, both were fairly quick yet smooth and great on gas. Are they a big departure from the 9th generation Accord V6? Maybe not but, when driven back to back one can appreciate the refinement of the Acura over the Honda. (While I love my current 2.0T A-Spec and with the peformance tune I have it's a good deal faster than the old 3.5. But, it'll never sound as good as the 3.5. That part (along with fuel economy) I really miss. This featured car is a great all around car; not the best at any one category but generally good at all things.

I dislike when these porky sedans pretend to be sports cars via "sport mode", or lots of engine noise but NO GO. There is so much to compare between that 2007 ES and this car -- rear seat, dash styling, wheels, spare tire, etc. If your NC market is like the Minneapolis market, this car will list at around $18-19k, and if so, that ES looks like an even bigger bargain. Can't complain about much. Slightly boring, but solid. I don't like the value of it, prob just because it's more than I'd want to pay. I'd happily go to that 2007 to save 1/2 the price. Perhaps there is less of a gap between the Accord and this Acura compared to the Camry and the Lexus ES. I don't know the Honda side as well as the Toyotas. Nice review. I really do enjoy looks at older used cars to check on the state of the market.

I love the V6, refinement and reliability. ZF9 is not terrible once it learns your habits and you learn to drive around it. Not crazy about the kind of cramped interior and all the slop in the chassis. This would be a lot more fun with stiffer bushings, better brakes and obviously a better transmission. Biggest thing for me was it's like 30-50% cheaper than a similar age/condition German car but def not 30-50% worse. Just a little boring and cramped.
