I do not understand why you name "smooth sax solos ". A solo needs to be played within the context of the song.Luigi plays too many notes without a meaning. It are not the number of notes which counts, but which note(s) on which place.Playing fast ,many notes, everybody can " learn". The "quality " of the notes tells everything about the quality of the player. You have it or you don't.

I continue to be impressed by Joan Chamorro and what he is able to do with these very talented young musicians. It's a gas to see females playing double bass and drums. They all play with panache, brio and obvious love and respect for the music and each other. That's what makes it so driving, uplifting and irresistible. I wouldn't be surprised if this style of music makes a comeback. In fact I'm playing in an outfit in the UK like like this (though not as good) which spans the generations from 16 to 60 something - and it is going down like a storm with the audiences who are fed up with electronica.

I have to come back to this one every so often for mood adjustment and overall amazement at the talent level. Here's Joana belting it out with Enrique and Luigi just burning things down, then one of the students, Marcal, gets up and plays toe to toe with the pros. Then.....the band. Wow. What an impact--they really pop at times. Some of the full group songs I call block busters, and this is one of them. Thank you for this, Joana and everyone. Finally, Abril is magnificent at driving the band, as usual. Can't say enough!!!!!
