I’ve got an ‘18 in the exact spec and have gotten up to 27 mpg with the valves closed, driving 75-80 here in TX. It gets amazing mpg if you don’t floor it at every stop light or on ramp. The best all around performance daily in terms of driving dynamics, comfort, and fuel efficiency.

Great review Audi's are almost always the more refined of the 3 German companies. Though I can totally understand why so many ppl were excited for the RS6 Avant since it hasn't been in America for around 18 years. But for some reason "car guys" make fun of ppl with Audis saying it's a "woman's car" which is just stupid

Great review. I just bought a 2016 in a very similar spec. Gray with Carbon Optics pkg. Mine has Bose, sport seats, no cold weather package and the silver wheels (same style). I wish I had the B&O, cold weather and comfort seats. The sport seats are great and look better but the comfort seats are comfortable (duh), have ventilation and massage functions. It’s a rare option though. I owned 2 S6s ( a 2015 with 420 hp and a 2016 with 450 hp) so mechanically identical to the S7. The S6s were great with plenty of power and great comfort on the base 19” wheels and air suspension. The S Tronic transmission was terrible in stop and go traffic. It is great when moving though with very quick shifts. The ZF8 in the Rs7 is much better though for a big luxury performance sedan. I think each model in the range has it’s niche and price point just like when they were new.

I test drove a 2015 RS7 they had at Audi of Cary with the sport seats last month before I saw this one listed for sale. What are your thoughts on the massaging seats vs the sport seats that were in the S7 you drove? Good review, good advice on buying used, I think. My hesitation is always from the "expensive stuff breaks" perspective, esp with the technology on this car. My buddy has owned 3 RS4s, and those were fun little beasts, but when he bought an RS7, it felt like a quantum leap. The RS7 felt like a rocketship. It just LAUNCHED. But the manual trans in the RS4 was preferable. However, the hatchback on the RS7 was more practical from a throw the mountain bike in the back perspective. I really do love the RS7, but as your new Tesla Plaid review shows, if you're looking to escape gravity, that's where you gotta be now. And it's a hatchback too. What fun.

Far quiter and more refined than those cars. Ride quality in this is also better. BMW M handles great but rides like trash and is very loud. AMG is right in the middle strikes a good balance of refinement and handling. It's between E63 and this RS7 for me. RS7 might be the better car overall but I have more fun driving the AMG if that makes sense
@sym98m
@sym98m 3 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup Yeah that's what I figured. I'm looking between the two right now, specifically the 15' E63s and a 17' RS7. I drove an E63s before and it just felt super tight and really nimble despite being a big comfy benz. I'm just afraid that the RS7 will feel really big and heavy and just not precise enough. The M5 is out of the question for me honestly, just not as reliable as it needs to be to consider it for purchase. Thanks for your feedback!

Hey man, you’re better than redline reviews! Quick question, 2019-2021 Kia stinger gt1 or mk1 A7 with under 70,000 miles. Which one? I really can’t decide
@MeynMotorGroup
@MeynMotorGroup 3 жыл бұрын
Hey I'm really humbled by that thanks. And I would probably have to go with a 2021 Stinger GT1. 2021 is a good year for the Stinger they made some nice suspension changes so it drives a lot better plus it is new with a 10 year warranty and VERY fast feeling. The Audi is the better and higher quality vehicle, but it's used and long term reliability isn't the best. Need to buy CPO or with a warranty. Stinger interior can creek and rattle potentially after a year I've heard but it's still a new car and you can get over $5k off sticker price easily which makes the GT1 a nice bargain
@DuckyDs
@DuckyDs 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the recommendation. I want to get the new Ascot Green on the Stinger. The gt1 offers all the options that I want. I tried to order one, but Kia dealers suck, and say it’s to soon. The A7 goes from a $75k new vehicle to like $35-40k in a few years on the used market. Cpo/warranty is a must. But I’ve read the A7 is more reliable then most Audi autos. Crazy thing is that I think the s7/A7 was the benchmark for the Stinger. The specs match up really close. Keep making content, you provide excellent usable information.

There is a used car shortage in this nation that is going to drive up both TRADE IN VALUES and unfortunately, used car values... for the next year or 2... This is America; the value of our own dollar is whatever we pace on it. There is no gold nor silver to back it. The car fax on my Audi reports the 1st owner storing it in a garage in NY for 3 years driving it 500 miles a year for 3 years... that’s Gold standard in my opinion. Can we talk about the way they tried to hide the screen in this car and in the new one they have fricking 3 screens? i love the way this screen is integrated , when its folded gives this car interior a timeless design, other than that is my favourite modern audi for sure ,looks slick and has power for days, the ultimate daily and autobahn cruiser . Speaking of autobahn's, can we talk about how America , THE LAND OF THE FREE !!! probably the country with the straighter highways in the planet doesnt have unrestricted roads? By what i heard from other american youtubers ,your cops are everywhere ... here in Portugal anyone can have one of these and rip it on backroads no issues , its kinda sad for you cuz you have a manufacter putting out 700hp trucks and minivans from factory LMAO

Yup best screen design on the planet and if it breaks, screw it hide it away forever and you got a timeless interior like you said. I'll be honest I'm kinda glad we have speed limits because the idiots here can't drive to save their lives for real. If you want to go crazy here in the states, I just do it and go crazy and hope a cop doesn't see me but if they do, just own up to the consequences. With all the trash drivers we have to worry about, worrying about cops on top if that is just dangerous just focus on driving is what I say pay the ticket later or fight it.

I run a Stage 2 dual pulley 93 octane 3.0T. Fun, but less costly and the most reliable engine. With a trans tune, many are running 0-60 in 3.3 to 3.5 with quarter mile in the 11.4-11.7. A few that can get E85 run low 11s. Factory redline is 6200, mine is 7400. Look up a stock or even Stage 1 S6/S7 in comparison for 0-60 and quarter. S owners are worried about the turbos going on the S (RS has different turbos.) Same interior available minus carbon fiber. I have 20 inch rims, tech package with HUD, double pane glass, S Line (unique bumper front and back and black roof liner. Four wheels spinning at the top of first gear. Final note. S cars have a DSG trans and 3.0T and RS have a ZF8. The ZF8 doesn't need regular maintenance. 3.0T with a TCU tune can launch like an RS. Torque converter ZF8 reacts faster than DSG off the line because it is already engaged.
@Todd.T
@Todd.T 2 жыл бұрын
@Hips King I understand about the oil screens, but the smaller turbos also operate outside their efficiency range when pushed, making a lot of heat and less power when you push them. It's pretty obvious that an engine that is 33 percent larger with dual power adders is going to make more power. To get an RS6/7 to 900hp is NOT easy. You'll need fuel that most people can't buy, exhaust that is illegal in most places. Fuel pumps and a few other tricks like meth and or water. Maybe you were thinking 900ft lbs of torque, because that would be difficult but easier. The RS7 has a different compression ratio, different pistons and different wrist pins and bigger turbos. Now launching a car has no relationship to "launch control". You decided to substitute one for the other. My car runs a trans tune and the RPM stall is set at 2800 and the torque limits are increased. Many people with a similar tune spin the tires uselessly from 2900 and up, which is why it is set so low. I also can't brake torque it for longer than a second or it will spin the tires and cost you in your 0-60ft times. If I could launch higher, it would be useless. You will see many DCT Audis launch high and spin too much and then the car steps in because you can never really turn off traction control. For your enjoyment is this video of one Audi with a torque converter, taking on 3 other DCT cars and you can see what it does off the line. All stock. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3q7eZt9mrSCbMk&ab_channel=carwow Another video and you'll see the DCT spin and cut power. This is totally Audi's fault for programming this. Look at the RS6 vs the E-Tron. which we all know electric cars launch well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp6yeqeKaLmniqc&ab_channel=carwow

If so that's a great year for the Stinger they made some nice suspension tweaks. Honestly thrust wise, you get pushed back in the seat more in the Stinger than this RS7 making it more exciting. This audi is too refined so you don't feel the speed, Stinger feels and is a rocket. Enjoy!

Nice looking but that’s it, a money pit after 2yrs, unlike say a Lexus.
