It is good to see one of Tiznow's boys doing well; Tepin made a fine run, the race just didn't go right for her in the final turn and stretch.

Smart ride by Joel Rosario grabbing that inside position on the rail and hugging it the whole way around. If he doesn't, Tepin wins this race, IMO.

Tourist was always meant to be a good horse and billy Mott got the tiznow colt to finally deliver in a big race. It was an amazing ride by Joel Rosario who always shows up when the money is on the line, navigating behind what a view and Tyler baze was really dicey when they were dropping back.

Shame to see Limato run poorly. Can't believe he was so short tbh with all the contributing factors in terms of experience or lack of in his case. Candy wouldn't try him in a mile again if he didn't think he'd get it.

@Jacob Dunne, Limato definitely didn't run as well as a lot of people expected him to, but he finished best of all the European's in the race in 6th place, so on that basis, I think it's still hard to determine for certain if he stays a mile fully or not?

I know man, it's a hard one to call. Having rewatched it, it's not as bad of a run as I thought given what you mentioned. I mean, they may just put a line through it because there's no doubt in my mind he didn't show the turn of foot he shows over 6/7 furlongs. And who's to say the European horses ran well either? Alice Springs ran a shocker given how she's been running, Spectre fell out of the stalls and Cougar Mountain is a bit of a yard dog at this point. But also, despite how good I think Limato is, have you ever known a horse in a race as big as this (i mean, it doesn't get much bigger) to go off favourite and has never won over the distance before and has never ran over a left-handed track before? Not to mention the European's records in the race...

With those tight turns and the short straight, it's a bit of a lottery. There are too many hard-luck stories in that race. Tourist got the breaks, Tepin didn't. Limato seemed to be unbalanced, and Alice Springs never stretched out.
