All people here trashing about the XMR line-up did not consider that these bikes have a warranty just like regular bikes. Of course you can make those upgrades to a regular bike by yourself, but it will automatically void your warranty. Sure that might not be as much of a worry on some bikes like hondas for exemple, but can-am bikes actually pass throught mud holes without the need of a winch...

Tropical Shadow All i'm saying is that people can get a mud bike with a warranty with these kind of models, instead of automatically ruining it by adding snorkels or suspension lifts on base model. Of course you will void your warranty, like any other bike on the market, if you still need to had aftermarket stuff on a bike that is almost race ready.

You ever thought to just wait 6 months to a year for a honda warranty to go out and then turn it into a can am killer. That's what I did. The only thing I regret is not making it a can am killer from day one lol

Joel Keyes It's a good strategy if money and time is not a problem. But building a honda that can "kill" a can-am and still be reliable means investing big bucks... The idea of a warranty is to make sure you don't have to throw big bucks in it all the time. And there is also those who just don't want to bother with the built. They want something race-ready straight out of the box to go mud riding and nothing else.

I love to build my bike it's fun to me and building the bike is what makes it worth it. If you have somebody build a bike for you it wouldn't be as fun to ride as if you built it yourself.

Xmr comes with lower gears and relocation kit and stronger diffs and tires that's about it.

Arkansas Mudder All the XMRs are different in the accessories department, but some also comes with protections plates, extended fenders, heavy duty bumpers (renegade), 14in and 14in bedlocks(renegade), stronger seat vinyl, handlebar strap, and much more. The XMRs are actually a bargain if you plan on buying a can-am for mud and upgrading it. Don't forget that they have a warranty when mud builted bike don't.

Can am. Parts made in China and Mexico, no quality control what so ever, lazy company, great advertisement but put zero work into making there product have any quality or lasting value, attracts people with no knowledge of atvs and makes them think they have something better than a honda, Polaris, Yamaha ECT., break too much, too much power, gears aren't low enough, it's a belt drive, too heavy to be useful, blows rear diffs, doesn't have a real front locker, over heats too much, too expensive, and it's not a honda. My reasons for not liking can am. Don't get triggered because you know it's all true.

It's a scam all xmr is a base model with a few appearance mods that can be installed by your self for 1,000 just for doing it to a base model instead of buying a xmr for 15,000

Eric Hurst all you get get with an xmr is rerouted vent lines silverbacks rad relocate and different color plastic every xmr except the 1000 has the same gears

false buddy, After 2015 they started putting xmr pinion gears in all models. Thats why all the 2016 outlanders are running the same pinion gears. if you go and look at a 2015 outlander gearbox lay out you will see different gears for the xmr vs the std. then in 2016 they just started using all the xmr gears in everything. If you never looked at the 2015 layout i can see why you would think they are all the same. it seems to me that can am knows people are going to mud there bikes no matter if its the xmr or the standard models. Also the rear diffs for the 850 and 1000 xmr's are not the same as the std models. I just went through and looked up these few things. Im sure there are other differences.
