I got a 2016 Trax for well under $20k, and while I had initial buyers remorse, I'm loving it more and more every day. I lucked out with an LT model that has Bose speakers, sunroof, remote start, heated side mirrors, and almost all the bells-and-whistles, minus a "leatherette" interior which I couldn't give a shit less about. For the price, I'm happy with my Trax, and I hope others get to try this vehicle for what I bought.

How was your overall experience with the Trax? I'm looking at purchasing one
@jamieohjamie3 жыл бұрын
@@nallely8718 It's been fine! Pretty reliable car. It really doesn't excel in any which way except in being compact, if you're looking for something reasonably-sized. Haven't had a major issue with it since I bought it except for one day when the computer screens/gauges wouldn't turn on (but this can happen in any modern vehicle). There's probably better cars out there, even within the same category, but I definitely wouldn't say "No, don't get a Trax" if that's what you're after, because it definitely worked for me.

We love our 2016 Chevy Trax! We are coming from a 2003 Ford Taurus and the wheelbase feels about the same except you're up super high - much higher than all the other similar crossovers ice noticed 😊 It's easy to park because of the wheelbase and the backup cam plus Bluetooth is awesome! I hook up Spotify and I'm on my way! I feel like it was a big safety choice with the 10 airbags - we are saying yes to life! The nooks and crannies are wonderful and you can put a sack of hamburgers next to you on the 4 drink holders so it doesn't have to go on the seat like a Fusion. So far, I haven't been disappointed in a single thing about this car. Highly recommend it!!! Best car we have had yet!

Oh yeah, I was able to add data for the Chevy to my AT&T plan for $10-$15 per month. This is also my first time having OnStar which I rarely use, but feel safe having. It's phenomenal if you are really lost. Just hit the button & a real person helps you. Mostly I avoid this by sending addresses to the car's navigation using Chevy's car app for iPhone. This car is tech heavy & safe safe safe. The brakes are super strong and stop in an instant without upsetting the interior too much. Very secure feeling driving this car - again, I'm coming from a 2003 Ford Taurus with a Mustang engine. This car is just not quite as fast, but it's fast enough. I hope they add Apple CarPlay to the Trax, though with Bluetooth, onStar and navigation, don't really need it.

9 months into ownership. The Hawkeye comparison is pretty accurate. It's a solid car, though. I have no complaints except that they updated the "infotainment" center in the 2017 model to something that syncs better with my phone, and the plastic collects fingerprints like crazy. It's responsive. It's inexpensive. The fuel is okay, but I drive a lot. Overall, solid car. Feels solid. Lots of cars are better than it. But I got mine for a deep $8k discount, and it does its job.

It's the same car. The encore just has nice looking materials inside and the back window is a bit different in shape. Other than that, it's the same car.And yes, it's much cheaper to buy, so if you don't care about all the cheap plastics inside and want a practical vehicle to get from A to B, it's a good car for what it was meant to do.

Joe mariconadas Dude, I’ve been seeing you in every Chevy Trax video on KZbin. One video isn’t enough to hate on the poor car, isn’t it?
@bmw8036 жыл бұрын
I guess not. But, I actually don't hate the poor car. I've randomly asked people in parking lots what do they think of it. In general no problems, but the consensus is that they definitely need to make a better interior for the price. If it was maxed at $15K, then sure, no complaints, but it's definitely overpriced. Otherwise, it's a nice car for someone that wants to get from A to B and bring his groceries/kids home. My problem is just those that trash it, because it's GM. If it had a Toyota or Honda badge, trust me it would be the most popular small crossover. No one would be saying it's ugly or cheap interior, because many older Rav 4's are exactly the same. Cheap plastic interior that feels like a cardboard box.

LOL in the year 2015 cruise control isn't standard equipment. Maybe that stuff flies in Europe and the rest of the world but certainly not in U.S.
@bmw8036 жыл бұрын
That's why Americans don't like it. It was designed in South Korea with Asian mentality/market in mind. It's pretty successful down there and wish they had the diesel version. Would have bought that instead of the Cruze TDI. Cruise control is only good when on the open road in the middle of nowhere in Montana. In city driving it's useless anyway. One less thing that can break. Cars today have too many gadgets that aren't necessary and cost a fortune to repair when they fuck up.

In the past few years, yes, but older models ( 2010, 2011 ) are the same shit. Neighbor has a 2011 civic. You pull the door on that thing, it's so light it feels like cardboard. Hood sounds like a tin can cover when you close it. All Asian built economy cars are the same. Older RAV 4, same shit. The Trax was designed and built in South Korea with the Asian market in mind.

As an American I'm embarrassed by American cars. Why are they so much worse in quality and reliability than Japanese cars?
@bmw8036 жыл бұрын
It's a perception. Don't worry, Japanese cars have their weaknesses. Toyota has had a few major fuck ups too, with the gas pedal and air bag debacle. Now they're recalling over a million priuses because of fire risk. Nissans are also shit compared to what they used to be in the past. Honda had shitty transmissions in many models as well. Finally, the Trax is not American. It's a South Korean designed and made vehicle based on what the demand is in Asian countries. Remember, Asians aren't as picky as Americans. Any economy car will have this type of basic interior. Not much different than a Versa, Corolla and some Mitsubishi. This Trax is luxury compared to the Mitsubishi mirage.
@TTM7196 жыл бұрын
And don't forget the rusting frames that the Toyota trucks had in the past, the oil consumption of the Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords in the late 2000's, the transmission problems of the Hondas in the past, and many other things.

Junk. If you like the size get an Encore.
@kingm11569 жыл бұрын
+Ivan Vojt Jesus, what a stupid comment. You do realize the Encore is a Chevy Trax with upscale interiors, right? They are built on the SAME chassis and share the SAME power train. The Trax is aimed at the younger generation where the Buick Encore is directed at higher wage earners; the latter cost considerably more than the former. To that point, a top of a line Buick (i.e. Buick Encore Premium) costs north of $32,000; comparably, the top of the line Trax (i.e. LTZ) cost 27,000. So, it's up to the consumer to determine if the 5K costs difference is worth the upgraded interior quality. Still, it's the same car; so, to call one junk while recommending the other is, in a word, stupid....
