Voice of America presents the first debate of the election season between incumbent Sikyong (political leader)

Khewang Penpa Tsering la did very well in this debate. Tibetans should definitely vote for him. Lobsang Sangay already had a chance for last 4 plus years and he was not able to move us forward. Its time for a change and my vote will go to Khewang Penpa Tsering la.

You said to me it is not a game of "CHANCE" and then at the end of your remark you wrote "Give Lobsang Sangay a CHANCE to complete his unfinished task". Why are you saying give CHANCE to Lobsang Sangay but not a CHANCE to Khewang Penpa Tsering la? Secondly, why Lobsang Sangay has unfinished tasks? Unfinished task is not a good sign of leadership. Everybody knows that unfinished task is a direct result of lack of knowledge and poor planning. Or it could be because of not being efficient at the job. Why do we want to vote for a person who has unfinished tasks? If there was unfinished tasks from the first 5 years term, how many unfinished tasks will there be after 10 years. You are right. We are at a critical juncture and that we need to vote for a person who has very good experience and knowledge of Tibetan situation. For me, that person is clearly KHEWANG PENPA TSERING LA. Which dictionary says that Khenway is a word that we have to use for monk with Geshe degree and an individual with PhD. Khenwang (a Tibetan word) means any person with a deep knowledge. This is my understanding of this Tibetan word. If Khenwang is a word that we have to use for monk with Geshe degree, then why we are not saying Khenwang Lhakdor la (current director of Library of Tibetan Works in Gangkyi). In all documents, I see him refered as Geshe Lhakdor la and not Khenwang Lhakdor la. By the way, Lhakdor la is a real Khenwang. People like you and me are like new born baby compare to his knowledge and experience. Anyway, stop arguing with what I write here. I want Tibetans to read my remark. I am a 13 years old tibetan girl and I personally believe honesty is a key to unity, so I would like to support Penpa Tsering la. I would also like to clarify that, although Education is important, but for being a prime minister the most important thing is honesty. By this I mean, some people vote for Lobsang Singay la , just because he graduated from Harward, sorry to say but he graduated , for himself not for us!!! I support for Dr L.S for his vision and inspiring speech. He debates in polite manner, however Tsoktso Penpa Tsering La talk was Impolite and straight attacking Dr L.S, e.g. Asking how many number. If you are going for debate if you have do your homework by saying exact number. I felt uncomfortable even when I was in my room when he ask about number. He is a present Sikyong, atleast ask question with respect. He said " Tibetan are resigning from job because of Dr l.S administration" I can't digest this at all. He is making issue by listening to few Tibetans, and not taking place name and which department they used to work. b) He said that tibetans in moncot settlement are complaining about their kids education, Its not only CTA education department, its lack parent responsibility. because other tibetan shichak are happy about their kids education. c) I noticed that so many tibetan youth were connected to Tibetan Government in exile since Dr L.S became P.M. So I don't know What Tsoktso Pempa Tsering La is Talking about. Tibetan youth already connected so he can say he improve connection quality. On body language part or Non Verbal communication, I noticed Dr l.S has positive vibes and powerful presentation skill and confidence. Tsoktso Penpa Tsering la suited for very perfect assistance which will help to resolve our cause. End of the debate, It was Sikyong Dr L.S who came toward Penpa Tsering and shook hand.

I also would like to add here that the CTA should encourage Tibetan population expansion. I Believe the number of Tibetan population is decreasing. Even though it is good to have monasteries built in India, yet we have to move with time and Change. Tibet needs manpower of its own patritotic people, and we would need hands to build economy, protect sovereignty and regional integrity. The proportion of monks and nuns to general public is not too much..so, Pease donot encourage Tibetan people to be monks and nuns..we have to live in a modern world, looking at the modern economic development, innovation, science, technologies, equipments, armed forces as a nation in the future...thus, CTA must work on all these arenas if we want to win our country back and keep it , protect it, and flourish and thrive..we have to change according to the time, situation according to the rest of the 🌎..thanks

There seems to be a Puritan litmus test by some people: So people who executed the Sixth Dalai Lama and the Gyalpo Reting and stopped all progressive policies advocated by the Thirteenth Dalai Lama: no fun, no frolic; but for the Puritan cause it was justified to murder the Sixth Dalai Lama and Gyalpo Reting and (according to Gyalo thondup attempts were made on the 14th Dalai Lama' s life) in a rationale borrowed from the Inquisition. +ngawang dhondup I am from Utsang but two candidates for the Sikyong are non Utsang, it gives me freedom from accusation of playing dirty sectarian politics for personal gain. The same can not be claimed by people holding high office trying to influence the outcome by playing Tibetan people as fools for personal gain depending on the outcome. It seems very much like a calculated betrayal of the trust by Dicki Chhoyang La, and the worst political mistake by Lobsang Sangay La for appointing such a person as a Kalon. Agree with Dicki Chhoyang la that choosing someone based on looks with smiling face is "pathetic" (her press release): was not she commenting on Lobsang Sangay la appointing her as a Kalon? Besides, Penpa Tsering la is hand in glove with the Utsang Association regarding regionalism dirty politics in high office: of playing Utsang people, including me, as mentally challenged suckers to their selfish sectarian political ends.
