SO I JUST HAD A 2014 F150 IN MY SHOP WITH NO WIPERS. FOUND THAT I LOST A POWER FEED TO THE WIPER RELAY FROM THE ACCESORY POWER RELAY IN THE BCM. THIS WAS A WHITE WIRE WITH A BLUE TRACER. HAD POWER AT FUSE. LIFTED UP THE UNDERHOOD JUNCTION BOX AND FOUND THE WHITE AND BLUE WIRE BROKEN. REPAIRED WIRE ALL IS GOOD. LEAVE IT TO THAT ONE TO FIND ITS WAY TO OUR SHOP! GOOD VIDEOS!

@@FordBossMe Yep, I didn't even bother checking anything else because I was certain this was the issue. I did buy a switch that has the auto feature but still works. Just slightly different model number. Off by one letter I think.

Having this same issue. Parts cost me $65 from Ford Dealership, Advance Auto around $40...Socket size is 9/32 and took around 15 minutes, THANK YOU --- AMAZING

Just ordered a motor before I seen this video. Motor snapped where the bolts lock it in . Returning the motor and going to order this! Rough day but this video gave me hope!

You also have to remember that the motor has all the circuits going through it so the motor could actually cause this issue as well but it's not common

@@FordBossMe it slowly died so I assumed it was the motor . No I can’t get any movement from them . Just came inside from trying to install the new motor hoping to have the issue fixed but somehow it snapped where the screws go .

My 2021 f150 wipers failed during a snowstorm 5/20/22 in Denver. Was on my way home and had no wipers. Very frustrating. Dropped by to see my friendly Ford service representative a few days before the storm and was told maybe June 2022 parts will be available. But I am not counting on it. Denver will have snow for a week and I am stuck without transportation. They stopped working a few months prior but I was able to get them to work by manually moving them and they started to work again. Now I can’t move them manually and suspect the wiper transmission assembly is jacked up too.

I checked the fuses and relays on a 2019 F150. I have the wiring harness in, but to bolt it back together, the housing doesn’t have threads to attach it in to the ‘arm’ (?) The box didn’t have any additional bolts. Am I supposed to force the bolts down into the housing to secure it? I can’t find any info online anywhere!! Tia!

Very interesting. I just stumbled over this video after my local ford dealership had my truck for 3 months and brought it back without having anything fixed. Heck - they broke even more. Gave them my 2015 f150 platinum with wipers/fluid and the 360 camera not working. Now the entire entertainment system is out, lane keep assist, park assist - all the other platinum features are gone. They replaced the apim but can't write the settings to the apim for some reason. My wipers are working just fine - they just can't be adjusted as soon as the start button is pushed. If I turn them on and then start the engine, they work on that setting. I just can't change it anymore. Or turn them off. They are stuck on that setting. I can then set them to full speed and turn them off from there. And then can set them to full speed again. I'm gonna head over to oreilleys to get the switch. Would be a joke if that fixes it. Now I'm gonna go watch all your other videos to so if I can find solutions for the other problems too. :D Thank you! I appreciate it.

i wouldn't leave the dealership until they had my truck fixed at that point, and i fear i will be in that boat soon as i have tried the switch. Unfortunately the only switch i could get was a carquest one which didn't work and im going to give the motorcraft one a shot before it goes to the dealer but i woudn't want to be the manager at the dealership when i get there if that motorcraft switch doesn't work because this is quite ridiculous

@@heavymetalhead_3692 I made that comment 5 months ago. Still - everything is broken. They offer to take the truck in to 'fix it'. But given that they had it for 3 months last time and stole my radio, I want a loaner vehicle as collateral. They refuse. Fun fact: I figured out that my wipers work fine in accessory only mode. They just don't work while the engine is running.

Hi your video is very helpful I just purchased the new indicator switch from Napa windshield wipers are still not working I also noticed that the windshield wiper fluid is not coming on I don’t hear the motor running when engaging the fluid could the windshield washer fluid pump cause the windshield wipers not to work as well? Pls help thanks

I mean I can't diagnose this over a text message okay I need to see the vehicle so if you replace the switch then you're going to have to look at fuses to see if there's any fuses for the windshield wipers and if there's not any fuses for the windshield wipers you're probably going to need a windshield wiper motor it's pretty easy process of elimination and we can't do all this repair stuff through a text message I just don't do it anymore because it takes up too much of my time and people don't pay me to do it so I'm not going to go through the extent of doing it but there's only three things the switch the motor or fuses

Just watched your video. My wipers work but when I shut them off it sometimes more times then not will stay on the slowest delay. Watched multiple videos on what would cause this in a 2018 F150 XLT and they say it’s the multifunction switch (turn signal switch) my questions are.. 1) do you agree? 2) are they pretty easy to install being that I don’t know crap about working on cars? 3) after install does it need factory reset. Called 2 different Ford dealers and got 2 different answers.

My 18 F150 that I bought new has 56k on it just had this issue.. cheapest of the other issues this truck has had... my horn failed.. the low tone side went out, passenger side mirror motor grenaded aka chewed itself up and failed... my stereo (apim) keeps freezing up, lags, disconnects blue tooth and GPS constantly. Book an parts on that are 1200 alone... annnd the trucks currently under an oil consumption test cause it keeps blowing like 3+qts in a 3000 mile period, had pcv updated, pcm updates.. oil sensor changed.. hopefully that issue gets fixed... in a 3k mile period my air intake filter comes out BLACK from engine oil... this trucks been a headache. I have an issue where intermittently I have a loud clunk from the drive train when you start the vehicle, and occasionally when I'm driving highway speed let off throttle and re engage moments later it makes the same kind of slap not sure if it's a line pressure issue (10 spd) or what but the dealer was unable to mimic my complaint. I had it in a few other times for the throttle rattle noise they did the PCM update and it came right back never fixed the issue.. the vct or vvt valves cause some sort of decel rattle issue thats unfixable? Usually goes away or gets lighter when the engine oil heats up.. and then there was the spark knock issue... I ran 87 octane gas in the truck when i bought it because the manual said the truck is designed to run off 87.. but use 91 as recommended if you're towing often... well the only thing I really tow besides a small utility trailer is my boat and that's not often... had the truck in the dealer the mechanic told me I could only run 91 I live in Minnesota its not high altitude.. and the mechanic even made mention that I must of not of read the manual because it said use 91.. and it doesn't lol.. my assumption is the oil blow by when it's hotter out and there's more pressure building in the crank case is causing oil to be burnt off during combustion and causing a spark knock and that dealer didn't want to go down that rabbit hole.. ford spec is 1 qt every 3k.. my trucks losing 3+ under no trailer load and normal driving conditions. So I'm going through all these steps, I understand every manufacturer has issues but it sucks to be in this situation. There's no way in hell I'd ever trust ford EV's If their tried and true combustion engines and electronics have so many issues.

Question, I have a 2016 Ford Mustang and it has the wiper motor shorted out due to water intrusion, but I got the new Ford wiper motor and the 4 torx screws that clamp the motor to the linkage assembly, does not have threads in it. It came with 4 new torx screws, is this correct & the screws have to cut their own threads or is this a mis-made part?

I'm in the same boat. My wipers are moving really slow. Took it apart and tried it again and same issue. Going to go thru it again this weekend a little more and see if it's the linkage or the motor. Don't think it's the selector switch.

99.9% of the time it's the switch but I've seen it happen that the motor causes an issue as well because all the circuits run through the motor

Sometimes just pulling apart the connection of the motor and then cleaning it all out and then plugging everything back in everything starts working again

I'm having issues too. Checked linkage and it doesn't seem rusty. When I turn the wipers on via the stalk, I can hear the motor click. Is this a motor issue or stalk? It started with sloweer wiping...then slowly turned slower and slower. Everything else works on the stalk. Thoughts ?.thanks!

So if you pull the plastic off of the driver side windshield wiper and you check the linkage and it doesn't seem to be a problem and when you turn your selector you can hear the motor working nine times out of 10 you got a bad motor if the selector is working properly

My 2017 f150 platinum with 73k is having issues with the wipers. They won't turn off, they stay on the slowest setting and they won't stop. Also when I put on my turn signal the wiper will wipe. Now sense mine is a platinum has the power telescoping steering adjustment, is it still easy to swap out the multifunction switch?

@@danny6247 a lot of these circuits run through the wiper motor circuits so if you're not having luck with the basic stuff the wiper motors going to be the next thing but a lot of times you have to have to make sure you get in power and ground a places day it's supposed to be

When you pull the fuse out you can see the little wire that goes in between the metal pieces if it's broken or not Or you can take an OHM meter and just put it in your own setting and jump between the blades and make sure you get zero

Yeah you either need the wiper transmission linkage or you have a motor that's going bad

Not necessarily because if your switch has an intermittent short to the low side you could also cause that but you're right it possibly could be the motor If you're going to do it change them both just to get them both changed it's not a big deal because both have issues on that truck
