Wow, so many haters! Nobody realizes that this cars transmission gives the car a smooth take off, and that turns it into a respectable 0-60 time. The 60-120 time is very fast, and performance of the insignia is good.

Not really, look at the 1/4 mile time. 15.4 seconds is slow, a stock Toyota Aurion will do 14.3 seconds time after time, even the standard SV6 Commodore does 14's all day.

15.7 is very slow, especially considering it has all the technology that it has. I wanted to desperately buy I ne of the a e because I think they look very quite nice. What appealed to me was the 4wd platform and the twin turbo set up. However such small cubes and such a heavy weight with I bet an aggressive torque managment applied to the ecu file has really made this vehicle so damn slow. Ghosh 15.7 with a twin turbo V6 and all that grip. Just not good enough

0-100 km/h is almost exactly the same as a 1990 Toyota Cressida. This car is the answer to a question nobody ever asked.

+ArchimedeanEye - Except it's not a true 0-100km/h time. The driver short shifted by at least 800 rpm in both 1st and 2nd. If he/she had held onto the gears longer, the 0-100km/h time would have been at least a second less. The Insignia isn't a mid to late 7 second 0-100km/h car and I know this because my Dad has a 2015 Vauxhall Insignia VXR and I've also driven it. It's an early 6 second to 100km/h car with 0-160km/h in just over 14 seconds. It's about as quick as a stock Z32 300ZX Twin Turbo that my Dad had in the early to mid 90's.

I own a Insignia OPC wagon (2011), I have done it on 6.2 on my first try ever and 6,05 after lowering and changing the air filter. Mine is a 6 speed manual and 2 ton car so something is wrong here.

Why is the auto short shifting at 5,500 rpm in 1st? Once you're in 2nd the car's out the power band and there seems to be a delay of at least 1/4 second before the car accelerates again. An auto VXR should be doing 0-60 mph in just over 6 seconds (about 1/2 second slower than the manual). Going into manual mode may significantly improve the time.

My 4100lbs 2011 Buick Lacrosse CXS with the N/A 3.6 and FWD, which is a bigger cousin to this car runs about the same time.... EDIT: over 7.5?! I am around 6.5 - 6.3 low lmao so actually faster than this

The manual can do it in 5.9 seconds with a good driver, a simple tune will get it into the mid 4's

From 0 to 100 in 7.62 second 😱 i have 2.0 T version of this car (220hp) manual shift and im not a great driver anyway i get 6 seconds from 0-100 with smaller engine .....

Something defiantly seems wrong here, 0-100 is not only over a second slower then your 2013 but over 1.7 sec slower then manufactures claim and obviously has nothing to do with traction issues. Yeah, could partly be gearbox, I did notice it short shifted 1-2nd way too early, could be low octane fuel. It appears like car could be stuck in a comfort mode of sorts, it doesn't seem to rev up as freely as the 2013 or sound as good either. Might be worth doing some investigation; it's not fair to customers who shelve out the cash but are not getting the performance they paid for. Back in 2003 Toyota did a recall on their 141kw Corolla sportivo because it wasn't making the power it claimed to. I feel Holden need to address this. However I feel this car, given its price is a bit of the black sheep of the Holden family and their solution is kinda ignore it and side step customers into a V8 commodore. Which is ok because commodore has never been better but also a shame because given its........

Cont.. Overall package, it's size and space inside, great interior/ equipment level, comfort, Audi like AWD solid ride and handling that make it a great family tour for Aussie B roads. The engine and sound should be fantastic too but something is wrong. If Holden can fix this, along with the transmission software and price it a bit more sharply, it may have the potential to be a good following act when Commodore is gone.

I have a standard 2008 astra vxr and my mate has a 2010 insignia vxr,his car easily keeps up with mine and my 0 to 60 mph is 6sec,sure its not still in eco mode,try sport or vxr mode

Your times in this car seem to be too slow for its numbers, even compared to when you tested it as an Opel it was a second faster. What fuel was it running in this test? Could Holden have filled it with 91 RON? It will drive like a dog on anything less than 95 and really wants 98 to run properly.

We noticed a difference in the time from the 2015 model as well. We think this is down to the gearbox in the cars tested, specifically. The 2015 test car gearbox was very clunky and delayed (probably worn), while this 2016 test car was a little better. It does raise some suspicion on reliability.

+PDriveTV interesting, we have a Volvo S60 T6, same transmission (although very different mapping) and it hasn't changed at all over the last 50,000km, and I know they are fine for hundreds of thousands of KM.

I remember motoring.au did the same test couple months ago, it got the very similar result (even slower the aurion). Therefore it is not PDrive's problem, probably the problem is from Insignia's drivetrain.

I owned an Passat R36 and that thing was a weapon. Best suprise when a cocky V8 driver pulls up alongside hoping to overtake you then has to move back behind 😂I looked at the Insignia VXR as an option but I’d still buy another R36 over this as I am seeing reviews that say it’s way to heavy and underpowered for some strange reason. Maybe with a remap and some small mods it would be a quicker 0-100 but then the reliability factor would worry me.

Poor shifting and very bad time on 0-100 test. My Opc manual gear box got under 6 sec on 0-100 test...I think that on your car something went wrong.

There is must be something wrong with this certain car! My 2008 OPEL Astra H 1.6 Turbo (180ps) accelerates from 0 to 100kmh(0-62mph) in 7.3"(6.9" in 0-60mph).At several car magazines Tests that was the result for this model (OPEL Astra H 1.6T) . I can't believe that a 321Bhp turbocharged V6 Holden/OPEL/VAUXHALL is slower than my car. The OPEL/Vauxhall claimed 6" in 0-100kmh for the insignia OPC/VXR (MT-6). This automatic Gearbox is Horrible ! This engine revs 6.500rpm and the gearbox shifts gear's at 5.500rpm as i can see in this video !

Waaaay too slow for the weight and power rating of the vehicle.. A similarly comparable vehicle like the Chrysler 300 (size/weight/interior quality) is faster with less power and a significant torque disadvantage. Perhaps as just FWD/RWD the car may be quicker.

Damn, Great looking car, nit bad specs but need at least another 700cc's diaplayment but so so slow. Should of made it run low 14 to a high 13 at the very least
