All jeep Patriots are being discontinued....when was that and why?

They discontinued them after the 2017 model I believe, from what I’ve gathered online I would assume the reviews that said they were not as good as their counterparts in the compact suv class. I personally love the look of them, but reading through some of the specs and reported issues and I understand the only upside they had was affordability due to not having the best interior materials hence lots of road noise. A real shame Jeep didn’t show them love and put more attention on quality like they try with Wrangers.

Still like the Patriot, their slow, but they still look like a Jeep, and that's important. I'm very disappointed with the Fiat decision to drop the Patriot in favor of the Pussified new Compass, it looks like a car. In fact it looks like every other car on the road. My 2016 Patriot will be my last. I'm no fan of the Italian made Fiat Renegade.

I completely agree with you. I had a 2013 Patriot and it was a very good SUV, I had a Hyundai's IX35 before the Patriot and it didn't have enough power to take me away from a not so deep flood, one year later I took my husband's "old" Patriot in the same road in a stormy day with the same flood and we did make it all through it! Now I'm changing the 2013 for a 2016 because I really love the Patriot and how it seems like a smaller Wrangler's brother. I also hate FIAT for their decision because the Patriot deserved the new improvements instead of choosing to work with the "new" renegade, which looks like a Fiat Panda with steroids!

Their is a variable gear ratio model, but I believe it had a recall due to issues that they needed to replace, personally I think that kind is weird, basically has only one gear that changes sizes instead of shifting (not quite but easiest way to visualize it)

Doesn’t have CarPlay at all on it. CarPlay wasn’t made available on Jeep’s until 2017, and the Patriot never got it.

Not a perfect car but many of the QC & other issues were sorted by the models end. At least it looked like a Jeep with many XJ design elements if not that cars legendary capabilities. New Renegade is a fiat 500 on stilts wrapped in a ' fresh fun & funky' package. Better mpg probably, reliability quite possibly but it looks like puke to me . Take away the Jeep badge & 7 slot grill - it could be any car from any manufacturer.
