I wish I had this three weeks ago when I went to the heriloom Cattleya estate sale in Logan. :) I do think I got a few good, rare things though, which I'm very happy about. I think I sent you the list to see if you wanted anything, but I didn't see a reply. If you're still interested, just reply to this comment or email me again with a list of what you want. There is more stuff than me and a few more people really have room for. I've made three trips already and will be making a 4th. Most of it came straight from Stewart's, Armacost, and other places like that in californa. And bless Jeff Bradley's heart for the info on the Mary Rose. I'm sure it would have ended up in a dumpster if it wasn't for him and it was awarded at the very first WOC. There needs to be more people like this to teach the younger generations. This info and history is being lost, along with some of the historic plants. There are no Stewart's catalogs scanned online, for example, bits of info scattered all over the Internet and in some books. I still need the hackney book. There also needs to be some database of what was mericloned, by who, and when.

Well, it does, but fortunately, some people care about preserving this kind of thing and I even recently got a book by Courtney hackney which has tons of history about cattleyas and breeders in it and I ended up with some very rare and valuable things, one of which, I found out...a division of the same plant was sold for 750$! I've got some nursing to do, but if all goes well, that's one of several fantastic things I rescued.

If you're into cattleyas, I highly recommend the book. It's called American Cattleyas by Courtney hackney. I think it's self published so you'll probably not find it on amazon etc. but it's on his website.

Are you guys going to upload the 2017 conference?!?? I heard there were some amazing speakers coming this year. Someday when I get a little better, I will come. My friend said he wanted to go this year and would go if I went, but I'm a cripple right now. If I didn't live in Idaho, I would come every year.
