+Zheng Maggie I've visited and most people speak english to some extent (not that great but good enough) and you can always use google translate on your phone and type certain key words The people are really nice! If they see you struggling they go out of their way to help you (especially the staff) and the tokyo metro is amazing and the people that work there are great with helping you out and the machines can be set on english too so it isn't going to be that hard

+Zheng Maggie Friends! Most, I heard don't know English so you'll have to try with some broken Japanese and they will try with the broken English (maybe) haha

Don't expect them to speak other languages. However you just need to speak simple and basic English and they will probably understand. And when I say basic, I mean realllyyyyy basic. Make sure you have Internet access too incase you really need a translator.
