2016 Nevada Mule Deer TV version - Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg (Part 1)

Leupold's Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg is in eastern Nevada chasing mule deer. Randy is joined by his son, Matthew, along with friends Mike Spitzer and Scott Jones on this public land early November hunt. This is exactly as the episode aired on Sportsman Channel; Season 5, Episode 4
Randy, Matthew, and Mike all have tags. They have decided to hunt the last six days of season, hoping the early rut activity will bring older bucks to the area.
In Part 1, Matthew has first pick. He passes the nicest buck the crew has yet seen, not wanting to be viewed as road hunting. The following day gets rather exciting for both Matthew and Randy. Plenty of big mule deer to be found.

My favorite type of hunting videos, is when one hunts with family and dear friends. Congrats to you and Matthew with getting two really nice Nevada mule deer bucks. I am hoping to go do an OTC mule deer hunt with my Army bro this year in either Idaho or Colorado. That would be sweet if we can double up like that. I am a fan of both big and nasty/gnarly bucks with character like yours and smooth symmetrical ones like Matthew's. Both are God's gorgeous creatures and it is nice to be among them and a true blessing to harvest one.

Hey Randy, how do you like your Titan? I’m looking at buying the same truck and was wondering if you have any advice?

I have had four of the old model and a new model that Nissan sent me to try. They are very good trucks and can take a serious beating. Not sure how much off road use you have, but if so, get the PRO-4X. If you do a lot of towing, might want to consider the XD, rather than the gas version that I have. Good luck with your choice.

Randy Newberg, Hunter Thanks for replying back! I’m looking at a 2014 Pro 4x with the luxury and technology package in a crew cab with about 50,000 miles. Do you get about 18 mpg on the highway?

Not that high. Closer to 15-16 on my older models.

To me a old knarly smart buck is the hardest and most rewarding bucks to harvest, sure in his prime he may have scored better, but in my opinion he out smarted alot of hunters to get to his age

I would definitely give up a little size to have him right next to the truck! Mathew definitely knows what he wants to shoot. Is he always that lucky? This is the second hunt I've seen Mathew pass on a good animal only to find a better one! That never happens to me. In his defense, that's how you end up shooting the big one!! That was awesome!! Especially to hear the war whoops!! The 3 point was a real monster too!
