That's our plan as well. Still researching for the exact camper to use and need to decide on weather I build a rack for the camper with extra storage or just bolt some tool boxes onto the trailer.

I have a 2009 F-150 Crew Cabin. What kind of truck camper if any can I get for that. What size truck would I need for the Arctic Fox 1150? An F-250 or even an F-350? Thanks in advance.

For the f150 equipped with 10ply tires, air bags and frame mount tie downs the 650 Lance would be an option. For the 1150 Arctic Fox a dually wheeled truck is what is necessary.

1 ton dually long bed. Don't let them tell you 3/4 single rear wheel is suffice. Far from it with the amount of payload.

Would you recommend this to be towed to a camp ground and left there for 3 years? I am not looking to travel with it. Just place it down on a yearly rented campsite. Rent a truck, tow it to the site, and then just leave it for years. I would go back and forth by car, the camper would stay there for years. I have no storage place for it in the city.

+kara cornelio All truck campers have a HUGE cost. The 1150 sells for about 42k, depending on options. For comparison, the cost of a truck camper could get you a travel trailer at least 2 if not 3 times bigger for the same price.

Wow really? 1150 fully loaded is 5k+ regardless of what the stickers say. Best of luck in a 3/4 ton SRW with that payload. 1 ton dually minimum for an 1150 and an F450 if you can swing it for the commercial tires.

How would you get a rifle in there. They dont bend. Fishing poles ok, unless Im missing something.

The tray is five feet long. That should be more than enough for most rifles. Your elephant gun will need to be carried inside the camper.
