Impressive how much nice weather and good light adds to the quality of these reviews. Nice work again!

I test rode the xrt a couple of weeks ago and it is an insane bike. The extra electronics really enhance the riding experience. I pick up an xrt model in a little over a weeks time so you will be able to see lot more from the bike in my own channel :-)

Good review of a great bike, certainly the best one yet in English from Portugal. Agree about the 6 different models in this line-up - too much choice maybe? At £15,800 for the top of range and feature packed XA model, this is directly competing with the current 'Kaiser of Adventure bikes' - the GS/Adventure. Respect to Triumph for challenging them and look forward to the fight. Best wishes to Charlie B and for a speedy recovery.

Hey mate, great review. I do have a question about the fuel range noting that it's only a 20L tank. What kind of mileage did you get out of the bike?

So I've checked Triumph's website. Omg it's so confusing to look at their bike models, they have so many variations. They need to get a new marketing/production person in. Instead of listing every single variation, why don't they just list 2 versions, for example Road and Off-road. And have 'set options' for the different variations they have of the bike!
@BHPBikesuk8 жыл бұрын
They do do that.... The xc is the off road version and the xr is the road version. I test rode the 2016 xrt the other day and loved it

Great review! Very informative AND interesting to watch at the same time, which is a rare combination among the motorcycles video reviews. So keep up the good work! Greetings from Russia. Oh, wait, I almost forgot to point out at one thing that you are actually wrong about: this bike is NOT 258 kg - it is actually much heavier, since 258 kg is only the stated DRY weight of this bike. So the actual wet weight with a full tank would probably be in excess of 280 kg, making it the heaviest manual adventure bike EVER. So far the only adventure bike that's MAYBE even heavier than this Triumph would be the Honda VFR1200XD Crosstourer DCT, which is 287 kg wet in 2016. BUT it has a DCT (which is a +10 kg solely), more cylinders than this Triumph, and bigger fuel tank. And manual version of it is 277 kg, which is lighter than this Triumph. Bike World, you should totally make a review of the Crosstourer (which is also updated for the 2016), and compare it with this Triumph. Cheers.

Nice comprehensive review, but don't you think the hill holder system is something you don't really need, that could also go wrong, such as the secondary master cylinders on Hondas?

So I have the 2015 model XC at £12.500. Is the new one £3.300 better than mine, are all those extra electronics necessary? I won't know because I'm not paying £15.800. My current Tex had cruise control, fog, heated grips and seat. Looks like I'm not going to get those features on my next one. I'll take a look at the GS next time.

16k for a bike to go and drop in the mud no thanks , its to heavy and has to much tech for real off road where 40 to 60 bhp is perfect and can let you use a single , my problem with these bikes is that although they market them as off road they really are not as you could do a lot better with a 250 trail bike if it gets bumpy, they are really just big tourers capable of going down dirt tracks which you could do on any bike really, they are selling a dream much like BMW do with the GS , ive seen a lot of pristine so called adventure bikes that have never been near mud , yes they are good touring beasts but that's it really .

I test rode this bike yesterday and love the engine, electronic cruise control and the sound. Only negative issue I had was I found the cockpit too cramped. It felt like the foot pegs were too high and after 20 minutes in the saddle it became uncomfortable. The funny thing is I'm only 5' 10" tall with a 30" inseam so I'm not tall. Anyone else have same issue? This is enough to keep me away from this bike although I liked everything else about it.

All those newfangled electronic doodads worrying you gramps? I've owned analog bikes and I've owned bikes with widgets like TC & ABS, and there's a reason why it's called "progress".

Stupid comment, modsurgeon.
@modsurgeon8 жыл бұрын
Funny, I'd say that lamenting the technology that allows performance like that is pretty stupid commentary. Especially when it's been used for decades and is well proven. But, to each their own. Luckily there are lots of old, simple bikes out there for people who are concerned with having a bike that has major service intervals of 30,000 miles.
@1990-t1j8 жыл бұрын
It isn't at all. The more complicated the electronics, the greater the potential for unreliability.
@modsurgeon8 жыл бұрын
Reliability and complexity may or may not be correlative, but there is no causative relationship. Electronic components in general are far more complex now than they were twenty years ago, yet they enjoy far greater reliability. And of course vehicles of all nearly all types are far more complex today than at any point in human history, and are also far more reliable.
