This is the first full review i’ve found after searching for a few hours. I’m buying a 2016 astra so very useful. May have been a long video but every single point of the car was covered which is very useful if you have to buy a car blind due to covid.

This was one of the most useful and detailed reviews I have seen of the 2016 Astra so far! It is a long video, but at least you do cover everything we need to know about the car! Very good job. By the way this was the first video I have seen on your channel and I have definitely subscribed! Keep up the good work! 😀

I'm thinking of getting one but I was surprised to see the most important part of any car doesn't seem to be part of the Astra, a CD player.
@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe a CD player is an option?
@clammier7 жыл бұрын
CD player as most important part in 2016-2017? Sorry, but I have to disagree - USB and remote playback from phone/tablet is way more important nowadays. However, you can still get CD upgrade on higher trim levels afaik.
@WhyUbrown7 жыл бұрын
Its an option for £140

Sorry but who uses a CD player in 2017? You can rip all your Cd's to a cheap iPod and use it over Bluetooth without having to carry about all your CD's!

I am planning to go for 1.6 CDTi 16V Ecoflex Elite Nav - does anyone have any feedback on the 1.6 Diesel engine and how it performs. Also, what meaningful packs should be added in Elite Nav which are really required (I dont think I need a CD Drive) but has anyone got any comments about packs like IntelliLux LED matrix headlight pack - Astra Elite or Electric adjustable driver seat with massage/ventilation/memory - are these 2 packs really worth the extra expense?
@roberth73206 жыл бұрын
The diesel engine is brilliant in 134bhp and I would recommend the sri trim with keyless entry and start, electric handbrake and parking sensors as options.

@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the alloys on this particular Astra? If yes, then no, the alloys on this Astra are not diamond cut. But I believe you can get diamond cut alloys as an optional extra or as standard depending on which variant you go for.

can someone explain why this car only has one reverse light 🔀 💡 on the left?
@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
The spot on the right is for the rear foglight. Likewise on LHD cars, the reverse light will be on the right and the rear foglight on the left.
@prayerpowersr8547 жыл бұрын
alexlovesmac so it only has one rear fog light? My older astra had two reverse lights and two rear fog lights
@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's right. Only one rear foglight.
@prayerpowersr8547 жыл бұрын
alexlovesmac but why? I am really upset by this, it such good car but this let it down
@GenaFrog7 жыл бұрын
Quite a few things are backward on the K series. After all, cars for years have had two reversing lights and two fogs. The base models of the Astra K don't even have rear speakers. They have four but they're all in the front. The SRi had 6 speakers but the rear speakers on this model are in the back doors. It's a shame they're not mounted in the boot. My dad had a really luxurious Vauxhall Cavalier Sports Hatch in 1979. It had front and rear speakers with the rear ones mounted in the parcel shelf and they gave off a lovely sound. Vauxhall have imo have prematurely retired the CD player. I'd have thought this model would've had one as standard but for it to be gone by the time this model is replaced. I've had the hassle of putting my cds onto my laptop to sync to my iPhone. You can buy a CD player as an option but it's £135 and even then it's mounted in the glove box which seems ridiculous. I'm picking up my Sports Tourer SRi today so I will be a happy Vauxhall owner :)

hi can someone who owns 1 of these please assist me in how to turn off automatic daylight running lights please as every time the ignition is turned on they are constantly on i underatand they turn on when entering dark areas such as tunnels but really want them to be off until required ive scrolled in the settings on the screen however theres no option on there to turn exterior lighting off thanks in advance guys ;) and yes im a noob lol
@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
DRLs are meant to be on all the time. It's a safety feature that shouldn't be turned off.
@dalebassett94747 жыл бұрын
alexlovesmac that kinda sucks really i know what your saying however i think you should have the choice to turn them off i mean yes they called daylight running lights but if its a really nice sunny day theres no need for them to be active most cars these days can be turned off manually
@dalebassett94747 жыл бұрын
as for safety feature a lot of cars dont have them i own a fiesta 1.4 tdci also and has bog standard lights with no dlr so its just another bling accessory cars dont need them its just an additional pleasure thats why all cars are fitted with fog lights for poor invisibility so i have to disagree with your oppinion that these are a safety feature
@alexlovesmac7 жыл бұрын
Dale Bassett On the contrary, a lot of new cars do have them actually. It's supposed to be standard on brand new cars introduced after Feb 2011. It also depends on when your Fiesta was made etc. The sixth generation Fiesta does not have them as standard as it was introduced before Feb 2011. DRLs are designed to make your car visible during daytime and it is especially useful in cold weather where it is gloomy most of the time. At night when the lights are on, the DRLs either switch off or dim down depending on the setup. I would disagree that it's a bling accessory and it shouldn't be compared to fog lights as they have two separate functions. Fog lights are designed for when visibility drops below 100m.
@dalebassett94747 жыл бұрын
alexlovesmac its not safety if it was all cars would have been made with them years ago before 2011 as you said it so yes i will dissagree and please only reply if you know how to turn them off from automatic to manual thats the reason i commented for in the first place right .

Opel are a subsidiary of General Motors as are Vauxhall and Holden, you'll find all three make an Astra which is basically the same with a few differences. I believe Opel are sold in Ireland too and Holden are Australian although I believe many models bound for Australia are made in Poland.
