I don't get it. They were owned by a large company, that company being Polaris. They were great looking. It sounds like they were reliable. Were sales no good? Yes, I know Polaris picked up Indian, but that doesn't mean you close down production if sales are booming. So I'm guessing low sales?

Hi Glock274Jimmy. Chris has a background in sport bikes, so many of his experiences are based upon that. While the Hammer S does make good power and is quick for a cruiser, it isn't to those used to sport bikes, but then again, what is? LOL We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!

Great review, thanks. Just spoilt it by mentioning the lack of wind protection - it's a bare naked cruiser, it's not supposed to have any so why mention it? Just my thoughts but seems all motorcycle journalists have to mention the wind blast when on a naked bike ;)

Our mentioning of the lack of wind protection is just an observation from our point of view. We are coming from sport bikes and even though they look minimalistic (is that a word?), their fairings and wind screens actually do offer a slight bit of wind protection at moderate speeds that is typically missing on a naked bike. And this experience can be rather noteworthy for those who are not used to riding naked bikes. It's not a knock on the bike, just an observation. It's kind of like saying certain muscle cars have heavy clutches. Those who drive them know this, but for those who are learning more about that vehicle, it could be important information. I have a 2006 Victory Hammer 100ci Stage 1 80whp 103wtq. It's quick I ran 12.6@101 mph. Love my Hammer. 😁

Good core strength virtually eliminates concerns about no wind screen up front. I rode from ABQ to Boston a few decades ago. Believe me, that wind keeps it nice going across the Texas pan handle in July. :D. Granted, the high desert was a tad cool coming out of ABQ in the morning. The Hammer is on my list.

Proper gear and protection definitely make it tolerable, but you're correct, a cold breeze adds yet another issue, especially on longer cruises. Thank you for sharing, but we must go. Gotta work on that core! Ride safe.

Nice bike...I really like the instrumentation. Still, the Indian Scout is much better looking to me, cheaper, and can be had with ABS. The big Victories are awesome.
