We had the best team in the SEC that year and made it to the SEC Championship and could have won it for the first time since 1979 only to let a decent Kentucky team cone in and beat us. I was so damn pissed.

Rick Barnes is a decent coach good recruiter but not a big game coach. All the talent he has had at Texas and Tennessee and no nattys and 1 final four. Just can't win big games

@@waynesmith2462 yep. summed up rick barnes perfectly. i’ll also add his texas teams would often start seasons very strong only to collapse mid season. but they would always play kansas very well. it’s more of the same at tennessee. he’ll continue to be a thorn in the side of Kentucky because he does well in that one matchup on the calendar against the flagship conference program. plus Calipari coaches poorly against his friends(alford, crean, barnes). I know for a lot of tennessee basketball fans that’s enough as they couldn’t care less about anything else that season as long as they beat kentucky.
