Great to see you getting your son using tools. Brings back memories of my dad and I, he was from a different generation that could never say I love you son. Hi Phillip glad you liked the video. Yes that is a first generation iPad I had laying around and its only good for music and maps. I used some phone mounting magnets at 3 different points and it works just fine through the bluetooth. I can do a video on it if you'd like. I also looked into the bigger screen but with that money I can do so many other cool mods.

Why didn't you wire the lights to the auxiliary switches that come factory with the truck asking because I have the same light set up that I was going to install just curious if there was a reason behind it or if the truck is not equipped with the overhead auxiliary switches, And when you cut the grill and put it back on how much wiggle does it have did you leave it or did you support it on the bottom with something else, Also I was torn apart about putting the 52" curved across the top of my wind shield and having to drill holes to my cab to install that's why it's been sitting in the corner for a year but this may have given me a different idea I thought about the lower valance but don't think it's strong enough

Hello thanks for your comment, my truck does not have the upfitter auxiliary switches so I had to go a different route. As far as the grill goes it's very sturdy, no wiggle no flex it sits right on top of the light bar and its supported by the top bolts and clips.

I saw the L.E.D brake light strip below your tailgate. Can you post a video of how you installed it please. I'm having a issue with installing mine. There's a black piece screwed onto the truck where the light strip is supposed to go and I'm not sure if I should remove it or not.

Hello Craig, I installed my Light strip right over the black piece, it bends well and just goes over it. The 3M Tape holds it on very well and has held up through many car washes and all kinds of weather. I will make a quick video to show it. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Barry, yes that's fine If that light is on all the time. I have left the truck without starting it over 2 weeks and no issues starting but wiring to when the key is on would be cool too.

I added the up fitter switches to my truck that took about 2 hours. Also no other switches needed nor the gawdy line and fuse at the battery.

The tailgate assist you used worked great. Personally i installed the ford tailgate assist on my truck. It hides the shock/strut behind the passenger side taillight.

It's your truck customize it the way you'd like. I hesitated at first but had already sourced a second xlt grill for cheap incase I wasn't happy with it. In the end it turned out great and it looks like it belongs there, I don't like the ones mounted over the cab.

Yeah I’m glad you didn’t mount it over the cab I think those make the truck look stupid. Maybe in the future I will do something with led lights but dropping 60K for a truck makes me nervous to start cutting into it. I will hold off on this for a while as I don’t really need any extra led lights being that I don’t really go anywhere that would require them so I should be good for now. Thx

I ordered and installed the tailgate assist shock, it was disappointing to find out ithat it is not as smooth as the factory one. Waste of money and I should have put that money towards buying the Ford Factory assembly parts for tailgate assist.
