218 hp for the big q7 is not enough. In usa base model is 261 hp for the same money. In Germany the q7 costs more than in USA)))

for a diesel it's more than enough. pointless to compare diesel HP and petrol Hp, diesel has way more torque, which is what matters for normal driving.
