2017 Ford Escape Reset Oil Change Indicator. Foot off brake pedal, Push start button,!!!!!!! BE SURE CAR IS NOT RUNNING!!!!!!!! Press both brake and gas pedals down all the way !!!!!!! BE SURE CAR IS NOT RUNNING!!!!!!!! Car will go into reset mode, wait until done, should be reset.

My light came on after taking my 2017 Escape to my Ford dealer for an oil change, tire rotation, and front end alignment. It's been a week now and the light was still on. I had looked over my owner's manual (no help to me), and called the dealer (what they said to do didn't work), and finally I saw your video today on you tube. After watching the video, I went out to my car and followed your instructions. Presto, it worked! Took less that 3 minutes to complete it. Thank you very much. Joh

Thanks helped a bunch. It also reset a trailer light warning. Didn’t have a trailer hooked to it. The owners manual doesn’t say a word about this. After looking for a 1/2 hour or so. Remembered youtube. 3 mins and done.

Awesome, thanks! This also works if your vehicle has ignition key. Just turn to the "on" position and follow same sequence.

This apparently is not the way it works on all 3rd generation Escapes (2012-2018) I have a 2018 escape and it is a different procedure. In case there are any of you having this issue here is the procedure to use: 1. Make sure all doors, hatch and hood are closed. 2. Turn key to the run position (pos. 2 ) but do NOT start vehicle. 3. On the gauge display/menu press left arrow and scroll down and select Settings. 4. Next select Vehicle. 5. Then select Oil Life Reset. 6. Finally press and hold OK until it says it is complete. I hope this helps anyone that is having an issue.

Yes I do think it is because you have a key instead of a push button. And some have different dashes.

The G Automotive And More mine is done the same way you demonstrated it in this video and it has a key, however I’m not sure if it’s the engine type that sets these different variations apart, just my educated guess however. Some have the 2.0 turbo, mine has the 1.5 turbo and then there’s the NA engine. Thanks for your post! 🙏

I too have one with a key and not a pushbutton. I follow your directions (engine off, key position 2). Go to settings>vehicle where I have 3 choices compass, lighting and wipers. I have looked in every menu I can find. No oil reset?

The fuel gauge uses the body control module. You are going to need a scaner that can read it and pull the codes. I would probably go the the dealer because they will have the right scaner to do the job. Thanks for watching

I do it because a lot of cars do require it to be closed for it to reset. I do not think its required for this Escape. BMW and Mercedes definitely need the doors and hood closed for it to reset.
