try some 2x6's and make some home made ramps FANTASTIC! I even used them on my 2019 E450 Class C RV, but they where made for the 2016 Silverado.

I think those are oil cooling lines and they leak on all of them where the rubber meets the metal. It's annoying.
@thecitiots Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip hopefully I don't have to replace them but should get on it before the snow falls.

@@thecitiots Yep the oil cooling lines and the trans cooling lines will both do it. I plan to use transmission rubber line and fuel clamps in place of the factory rubber lines and crimps.

@@bradleysanders7376 I had the skid plate off this week looking at those again hope to order parts and get a video out but hunting season is upon us.

Wrong oil, should be transmission fluid!
@Mason-Dain Жыл бұрын
don’t advice if you don’t know what your talking about. transmission oil is for the transmission and transfer case .

Hey thanks for keeping me honest. Here is the manual I went off of. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=my.gmc.com/content/dam/gmownercenter/gmna/dynamic/manuals/2017/GMC/Sierra%25201500/Owner%27s%2520Manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjHgvClp5_8AhXal2oFHe77BysQFnoECBYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1oRg3gjVX9bhVFoj8VX-wF Check out page 465 front axel, did I miss something?
@teenice894 Жыл бұрын
No it should not be transmission oil! Transmission oil is for the transfer case. Front diff takes gear oil. Do some research before making a comment. You still have time to delete your comment..lol..

Keep an ear for the outer bearings in these diffs. My driver side went at 90 thousand miles. You can do it yourself but it is a pita.

Good to know, do they start to whine with four wheel engaged?
@whales302 Жыл бұрын
@@thecitiots Yeah it will be more noticeable with 4 auto engaged.

Yea, I've been trying to diagnose mine right now. It started getting a loud vibration in the left front wheel that is only related to speed and weight on that wheel. I assumed it was the wheel bearings and it wasn't. I'm hoping it isn't bearings in the front diff. I'm going to change the fluid. Could be CV axle but it's not showing the normal signs.

@@westonhorne when I worked in the shop we used to put them on the lift have someone run it through the gears and another would diagnose from below I would never do that on jack stands. Any front end play?

Why are you changing front differential fluid change on a 17?
