you can get the dct down to 6.3 seconds if you shift at 4500/5000 instead of 6000 as it has power fall off at 5000. he shifted at 6000 here and only ran a 6.8. He could have got better performance with the manual to.

For the cmmenters in it being in eco mode... Dunno if its the same with this car, but, The skoda fabia rs i had also was possessed of eco and sport modes. The straight line performance was exactly the same. Foot to the floor it would change at redline. Where it was different was it would hold onto a gear longer when coming out of corners etc. it would change down more aggressively etc. Actual straight line acceleration was identical however.

I own the 2017 SR DCT and I can assure you it's quicker to 100kph in 'sports' mode than 'eco'. 😐

As we've outlined before, the footage shown is only a demonstration. We time cars separately using a VBox, multiple runs and try out various take-off methods etc. We don't video every run as it would be too time consuming to try and line up the correct footage with the fastest times achieved. In any case, ECO model makes no difference to 0-100km/h. The engine produces 150kW with the accelerator pressed all the way down, in all modes. Hope this helps.

when a car is floored. Its floored, the computer tell the engine and transmission to make maximum power. The only thing eco mode changes is throttle response, and transmission timing during normal driving.

MrNick98 but ive seen how eco mode affects 0-100 time of some cars, that's why I was confused. But is there any point in enabling eco mode in the first place anyway, especially when you're testing the performance of the car

Qua Pro Pro it turns itself on, you have to physically select sport mode once u turn it off it's back to ECO

This is pretty close to what 0 60 and 1 4 mile times were on a v 8 mustang in 88. not fast by most standards today but my 88 5.0 fealt fast at the time. Im sure this car feels lively and " fast". Question is will a tune bring itno the 5 second 0 60 and 14 second qtr where it will feel properly quick for an econ box.

Why would the braking difference be so large almost 2 metres ? I wouldn't think the DCT would be that much heavier, also the brakes would probably be the same type ? I doubt in a emergency stop situation you would have time to use the manual engine to help with braking in under 3 seconds. How many runs with the braking did you guys do? Best of three I hope, because was preferring the DCT but the 2 metre braking distance can prevent an accident or save someone's life.

The Australian interior is a bit nicer than US, rear AC, better color, etc, but still like it a lot. I wonder how fast the cars would be driving on the right side of the road :)?

Kyle Ellis Hyundai and Kia have both really stepped up their game. However, their prices have increased as well. They were known as cheap, A to B cars. A lot of people considered them junk. Now they still have that stigma of low quality (though they aren’t) but high price tags (relatively speaking). They have really put themselves on the map though!

We've been testing cars like this for over 5 years. As always, the footage shown is only a demonstration - it's not actually timed. We do the timing separately and on a grippier strip of tarmac. It's easier and quicker for us to do it this way, so we can churn out more videos for you :)
