So you said the socket it 3/16 but that can’t be right. 13/16 maybe? I don’t have a deep set so might just buy a single but would love to know what size to get.

My wife's Tucson shakes at idle and has poor acceleration but the RPM isn't bouncing around and no codes. Thinking about changing this and the fuel filter. Did you have any issues or just changed it out?
@Too-Gq-For-You2 жыл бұрын
no issues with this pcv removal. you could do it in less than 10 minutes (assuming you have the tools). fuel filter i cannot advise on

I believe that since you are using a high detergent full synthetic that you intake valves are probably pretty clean, ever taken a borescope to look at them?

I no longer own this vehicle anymore. But that was my goal. Clean internals

not at all

Yes, mine does. I own the exact same model. It’s burning oil like crazy. No visible leaks anywhere. Dealership said no leaks found. They recommended a combustion cleaning (over $500, didn’t do). They said no guarantees and if that didn’t work “replace engine”. I have used Seafoam spray in the intake, Marvel oil mixed with my regular full synthetic oil, and I put Seafoam in the fuel every 6 months. I just ordered a PCV valve just to try. I’m at wits end with this car. The lack of acceleration is awful too. I’ll get an independent mechanic to look at it next to see what it could be I guess.

@@andrew.williams88 Theres a lawsuit against Hyundai and Kia. It’s about the engines burning oil and catching on fire. I’m in a process of getting engine replacement. Look it up. After the clean mine was burning 2.5 qt every 1000 miles.

@@andrew.williams88 my wifes did this too. Its simply the oil filter. I started changing the oil myself and filter and it stopped burning oil so fast. Where ever u take and get the oil changed probably giving you the wrong oil filter

@@andrew.williams88 did you change the PCV valve and did it fix anything? Also am having the same problems and wish to avoid the diagnosis if I could.

Hey so what are some bad symptoms that might develop if you never change the PCV valve?
@Too-Gq-For-You3 жыл бұрын
great question: bad gas mileage, insufficient flow, too much crank case pressure not releasing properly, bogged performance. it's literally a $6 dollar replacement and I change often to keep a peace of mind. idc what people say about changing too soon, that's irrelevant.

@@Too-Gq-For-You Cool, thanks. My 2016 Tucson 2.0 liter engine consumes about 1 quart of oil ever 1,000 miles. Even worse than that when on long hilly rides that stress the engine more. I have 123,000 miles. I've never changed the PCV valve and I'm wondering if changing it out can fix my oil consumption problem.

@@SevereTstormFan hello fellow Hyundai owner. I have a Tucson and have the same problem. Oil consumption. Did you ever get a chance to replace the valve and did it help?
@SevereTstormFan Жыл бұрын
@@rubenperez1481 I did replace the valve and it did not help. The oil consumption kept getting worse and it clogged my catalytic converter so bad I could barely accelerate. I got rid of the Tucson and now drive a Toyota Corolla. Whatever your next vehicle is someday you can’t go wrong with a Honda or Toyota. I’ll never buy Hyundai’s again that’s for sure. How many miles does your Tucson have?

@@SevereTstormFan I’m at 98k. Am hoping to hold out to trade in next year. Will definitely never make this mistake again. My brother recommended the same, Honda or Corolla. Looking at the CRV or pilot. But man that’s disappointing to hear. Was hoping to save some money. Have a diagnosis Friday. Guess I’ll be taking it to Hyundai to see what they recommend.
