Wish Indy would race at Watkins Glen again. Such an awesome track. I wonder what the drivers think of it; if I had to guess, I'd say most of them loved racing at Watkins Glen. Such a fast, flowy track.

Love this track what a great race for Rossi it was young man. Rossi has had a seriously detrimental run of luck since 2020, but he has won at some of the most iconic tracks in America... The 500, the Glen, Long Beach & Road America... Needs Laguna Seca on that list. Thumbs up for everyone that thinks this track has to get back on the Indy-car schedule.

He nearly did it this year (and would have were it not for some bad strategy calls).

Watching this back again and MAN I miss Watkins Glen. This track is absolutely legendary. So much history there and great opportunities for close racing. Would love to see this back on the calendar soon but it feels like a pipe dream :/

Why in the world are they not racing here anymore, such a shame
@hmdwgf6 жыл бұрын
It's completely outrageous this race is not on the calendar anymore. I was at this race, and sadly there was no one there- but I think one of the main reasons for that is because Pocono and this race were only 2 weeks away from each other- 2 venues that really aren't that far apart and the race was too close to the NASCAR race- some people didn't want to come up a month after the NASCAR race. Having Portland back is great but at the expense of this race? IndyCar needs to find a space for this race- preferably as distant as possible from Pocono. Why not have this race right after the Indy 500, move Detroit to the week after and have Texas earlier in the year?
@xSoccerxCorex4 жыл бұрын
because texas actually has people show up. why penalize texas cause no one goes to watkins glen? and Detroit is where it is because of milwaukee+the manufacturers/penske insisted on it.

This series desperately needs to be pushed outside the US - it is true racing at its best. While F1 has become the big budget series it got successively boring, as PCs & engineers dominated the car, not driver skills. Indy is different, faster, more down to earth and more open to new entries. If they would stop racing on ovals & get onto iconic, no longer favoured F1 courses (of which there are many all over the world) they could easily overtake F1 in popularity & become one of the most popular racing series in the world.

Florian Wolf Indycar at the full Brands Hatch track would be killer. With the excessive downforce taken away, the short ovals should be way better this year. The oval race at Pocono last year was awesome, tons of passing and balls out driving. It’s the mastery of multiple types of tracks that makes Indycar exciting.
@bowlchamps376 жыл бұрын
Well, F1 just has the claim to be the no1. motorsport series. And they undoubtly are. They still have the most effecient race cars in the word. I enjoy IndyCar races more even though they also have boring races. The one thing I really hate is that the US racetracks lack more diverse corners. There are just a few corners worth mentioning. I miss character, most of the tracks just have tradition but nothing else. Lot´s of these layouts are outdated. They were comparable to 70s racecources were corners were smooth and easy to drive. Would love IndyCar to drive on tracks like Spa or Suzuka that actually have tradition and character. And even though F1 cars have more technique in it, they are a lot harder to drive. Just ask Bourdais, Chilton or even Scott Dixon.
@xSoccerxCorex4 жыл бұрын
"if they would just stop racing on ovals" lolol, stopped taking you seriously there. this series bread and butter is ovals and the last america open wheel series that focused on road courses didn't even last 3 years. seriously, european racing fans hate americans so much that they'd rather a series die then accept the parts of it that make it money in the states.

Stupid question: if you’re 2-3 laps down after a mechanical problem, what’s the point of going back out?

points. indycar offers points across the field so a handful of points is better then nothing.

Helio cross the pitline on the exit by a mile, but he is inside the line by the transponder so he dident get a penalty... What a joke, no wonder nobody takes us racing series for serious... Its a shame for such a great racing series

didn't say it was right, but he got back to the marker at the place he was supposed to be at. fell in line with the set rules. going wide and getting back in time probably slowed him down anyway. I was replying to the 'no wonder nobody takes seriously'. This incident should not have an effect on anyone's thoughts of taking us seriously when stupid rule bending strange things occur in every single sport. Including other top level racing leagues.
@1AngryPanda7 жыл бұрын
xtlm i understand your point. But the rule of dont cross the line in the pit exit is not to slow down the car that exit the pitlane. Its a huge safety feature to protect de much faster cars on the racing line. This line has in every racing series that i know the same function, dont cross the line or you get ah drive trough for unsafe release. Helio was not alone Josef, Sebastion and Tony cross the line too. Sato spins on the track, hit no barrier or another car, keep the engine running and he go's racing again and the race director trows a full course yellow for several laps, thats weird... When you see the Helio situation, he stand almost sideways in the middel on the racing line and he had great luck that no other driver came in fullspeed around the corner, i dont know do you remember zanardi's accident? I know i draw the devil on the wall, but i dont understand that a common basic rule all over the world not get used in indycar. But the smalles incident on the track automaticly full course yellow causes...
@alexthorne69967 жыл бұрын
xtlm joke of a rule. The line is there for a reason so you don't appear in front of a faster car coming round. Its dangerous driving. Get rid of the line if theyre not gonna use it
