Did this install on my challenger with the alpine system. It works well, however I have a pretty high sound floor and very obvious alternator whine. I've replaced the ground wire, relocated the ground and nothing changes. I would also really like a guide on tuning a system with this dsp.

Can this amplifier be used without Maestro integration? I see the RCA input harness but I see nowhere in the manual or the unit itself for a remote turn on wire. I suppose it gets accy/ignition from the 4 pin Maestro harness?

Hmm, 1 of these: (tweeters), (midrange), rear fill (coaxial), the xr1000 (subs), and the XR 401 bridged (front mid-bass) is all one needs and you can hit all three amps. Nice.

I am loving it in my 2016 RAM Limited, more power and cleaner sounds even with the factory speakers. But of course I switched them out for Polk DB+ but I need some more tweaking. I did tie 5 & 6 channels to the factory sub for 200 watts RMS, but sounds like crap. Now have to figure out how to add additional amp.

I have after market alpine radio, amp and sub but don't sound good enough. Can this Kenwood Excelon 6 channel Amp (XR600-6DSP) perfect the sound quality and clarity?

This amplifier has been discontinued and is a few generations old, we have a current amp that does not include a DSP but works with the aftermarket receiver you currently have, The XR901-5 www.kenwood.com/usa/car/excelon_reference/xr901-5/ is a great Sound Quality amplifier assuming your subwoofer and speakers match the requirements and ohm load. Robert, since this amplifier was designed to be adapted to OEM vehicle installation using an iDatalink interface it would not be the best choice for a receiver that already has RCA output like your KW-V660BT. Although you can set up this amplifier to accept analog input and could work with your receiver, using any combination of our available 2 channel, 4 channel or 5 channel amplifiers would be more cost-effective and would be less complicated to set up and tune. Why are you curious about? At 75 x 6 it is more than double the power of the stock Sony 11 channel amp. All the controls on your factory Sony radio are retained, everything. However your center channel speaker for the Sync features will not work without input from the amp. To add a subwoofer and amplify the center channel again, you would need to add four channel amp. I am considering this amp/dsp to run with my Alpine PDX-V9 which can power the rest of the speakers and sub returning the system to full active unlike just having six channels + mono amp which is only 7 channels, the aftermarket tweeters are passive and the rears are now coaxial. In my Focus ST, I have components front and rear, so I need ten channels.

Is the only way to connect the factory head unit to the dsp is with a maestro ar module? Or does it have a standard high level input for standard front and rear speaker connect?

The XR600-6DSP requires the Maestro AR to turn on.

Does this keep all the factory speakers powered? I have a 2019 edge with woofers and tweeters in all 4 doors and tweeters in the rear pillars.

While we always recommend double checking the power handling of your speakers and resistance values, yes this will power the speakers in your vehicles. This amplifier is designed to replace the factory amplifier with the use of the iDatalink AR to function like the OEM amplifier, with higher output!

I'm looking to setup a car audio system with a manual crossover setup that would require me to use a 6 channel amplifier, I was thinking about choosing this amp, would I be able to retain the 32 bit 192 khz quality as long as I use a good quality head unit and good passive crossover?

Yes, with a Hi-Res Audio receiver you can maintain that output quality. You can look at our eXcelon Reference receivers for the most tuning and control I would suggest the DMX1057XR or the DNR1007XR. Keep in mind, the XR600-6DSP was optimized to integrate with factory OEM audio systems to retain the factory receiver when installed using an iDatalink AR module, although the XR600-6DSP can be used in a universal "analog" mode, it may not be ideal for tuning and setup for the type of configuration you are after. Are you trying to set up an active 3-Way configuration? Are you using 3-Way components with a subwoofer or just Tweeter, Mid, And subwoofer? Thanks!

@@KenwoodUSA yep, I'm trying to run a three way setup for my low-mids, my mids, and tweeters, I already got crossovers selected, as long as I can use the high res feature with one of the excelpon reference series ones then I'm good, thank you!

It''s great and all that the amp has RCA outs to go to sub amp but what about the remote turn on to turn on said extra amp? I don't see any sort of output for that :(

KENWOODUSA I called kenwood yesturday. Got a girl that you can tell is just reading from the Web page, then asked for level 2 support. A little better, but I hate to say no help. He told me I have to call idata link to ask about the remote turn on. Your customer support was so good before, what happen? But what I really want to know is, is this a true 75watt amp or sounds more like 50watts? Do you have any 2ohm speakers for my doors, so I can get the 100 watts? Or should I wait for the rockford dsr1 to come out. That way I can put any high wattage amp to push it.

Another option is the Pac-Audio AP4-FD21. It lacks all the fancy sound processing, but does give you a full range signal with the rest of the audio system intact (chimes, phone, etc)

Stephen G yes I saw that option. But for that price I'll wait on the rockford. You get more options. Like the app option, u can just tune from your phone. This kenwood is my answer to my problems, but the answers I get when I call kenwood stray me away. Got a dodge durango with the beats audio crap. Been a kenwood guy for 20 years.

This amplifier will work in your car, however your vehicle is NOT compatible with the Maestro AR. You can install this XR600-6DSP in "Universal" mode, meaning it will work as any 12v car amplifier would and require typical adapters, custom installation and possibly replacing factory speakers for best performance and compatibility. Ok we just finish and install 2017 f350, and of course I was in the impression that you could split the 5&6 Chanel's for center and sub but you can't. You need external amp for Chanel 7&8 to do center channel. As our customer didn't want to change his factory sub!! We did 1&2 fronts 3&4 rear 5&6 sub lost front channel! Now we have to back and install another amp. For center channel. I watch the video but didn't read the comments! Need more notes about center channel! :(
