Steve, I saw these in person in Florida when they very first came out. It reminds me of something between an explorer with birth defects and a UPS truck.. Fugly thing.. however, after watching this review, I want one even more than I wanted an LR4. Seriously Steve you’re at the top of your game wether the subscriber count depicts that or not. One of the only reviewers I can watch at any time anywhere and stay connected with. Thanks for your hard work. Another awesome review.

Man, thank you! Feeling a bit frustrated over low views this morning so a little pat on the back feels good. Appreciate it.

But it does appeal to a smarter car shopper than some of those enthusiast channels which only care about 0 to 60 numbers.

Every time I see the rear of the vehicle I gag. Another Good looking Land Rover live lost. R.I.P.

I'd love to get an LR especially a Velar if and only if they'd get their quality and reliability issues under control. There doesn't even seem to be an attempt to improve in those areas.

Lol an 80K car should not have that many items not work properly... albeit the key FOB....

Early model all little issues have been fixed. Never buy a new model straight away

Don't know why people are that critical even if... like with this review... the judgements and commentary of the tester is mainly positive. Yes, it's a lot of money to spend if you want to call such a car your own, but you cannot expect pure magic at a quality level of 120 %, right? I bought a used LR Disco 3 TDV6 HSE with almost 60k Km and it took me (and the guarantee) about 1 year to sort out and settle all issues of the previous user and... since then... it's a trustful beast that will last for a very long time still (currently 184500km).With a brandnew car stuffed with features up to the roof it'll need few checks to solve small issues if there are any and I don't think you can expect other than renewing brakes, oil, tires and else full performance of an exceptional concept. The only American that can hold against it is indeed the Jeep Grand Cherokee, however, with a different concept and also not a 100% delivery of quality at all times... So, save the bucks to get it a bit overpriced and new or wait a few years to get it used... like I do... 😉

Rather have the old LR4 !

Sad that the car has issues right off the bat. Not a good sign and doesn't help their already unreliable image. But people buying this don't care lol.

Great Review Steve. This is a much better vehicle styling wise inside and out that the LR4. The materials look top notch.

Brand new press sample and it already has failures, nice to see some things never change, like lousy Land Rover reliability and quality issues.

Can't imagine spend big bucks on a SUV like the Land Rover and taking it off road.Hell I wouldn't even consider doing that to my $30,000 Subaru Outback. If you must.....Use a Jeep CJ for that duty.

"You'll want to invest in more capable rubber". Yes, you'll want to, but you wont be able to. There are literally ZERO AT tire options for the stock 20 inch tire size.

Interesting, Patrick. I'll look into this. Thanks for the heads-up.

Just played around over at Tire Track. You're right; no A/T tires of this 20" fitment. You can get winter tires but that's as close as it gets. Too bad.

JLR is a joke. I've seen about 5 reviews of this car so far and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was broken in some way. Then I went to a dealership and sat in one. Everything you touch makes unpleasant noises, rattles, shakes, etc. And this is not 1 car. This is experience from a Jaguar XE, F-Pace, Range Rover Velar (do you even get that in the US?) and all of them were just as bad.

The trouble with Land Rovers, things don’t always work properly on them, they are unreliable, and as a UK subscriber it embarrasses me
