We are in 2019 , the shape of e-class 2014-2016 is still the best e-class ever produced, maybe the best among entire mid-size luxury sedan car ..it will be a bench mark for all car maker ( shape wise )

Love the 2014 exterior and 2017 interior. I just got a 2014 E350 and was very happy about the decision I made. I sold my 2013 c250 and paid extra 5 grand to get the 2014 e350. 2017 to 2020 isn't bad. Looking at the 2021 new design, it's even ugly outside.

I think it's fair to say that both cars are beautiful in their own distinct and unique way. My mother drives a 2014 e class wagon that feels impeccably built both inside and out. In fact, although I drive the new 2016 c63 s, I often prefer to drive her car given its ease of use and extraordinary ride comfort.

I prefer the 2014-2016 model. From the front it's almost impossible to tell 2016 and 2017 apart. But the rear is much better looking on the old sedan. However the new wagon model looks better than the old one.

Earlier aggressive side lines (contours) were better looking than the new merc philosophy of going for coupe like side line which drop down going back, giving it a more of laid back appearance.

If you don't have $65,000 to spend, 2014 e350s are coming off lease now. Just Bought a certified palladium silver sport model with 16,000 miles on it. Panoramic sunroof, AMG wheels. Like new. Original sticker was $61,700. Paid $34,000. Has full MB warranty for 3 years. I'm loving it!

To me, Mercedes´s designs looks great as long as they´re bold and squared-ish, I kinda remind them more easilly, not much rounded designs, the w124 for example or the 90s S Class, are one of the most iconic designs in Mercedes history, let´s not forget the emblematic W123 :)

Both profiles look equally great, front facia on the 17 is better, rear on the 14 is sportier, matte finish on the 17 is nice but they should keep that finish for the E63, no fair with the 17 interior using the Designo that way in one and not the other, the 17 is still better though, exhaust doesn't rumble like the 550. In summation, new is usually better but I wouldn't trade my 550 in for the new one as of yet, gonna have to see whats available in 2019. But not for nothing, from the new S class down they all look very similar except for the CLA which mimic's the CLS, please don't tell me that Mercedes is going down the same road as Nissan and Cadillac with the cloning of cars.

The new e class has much better and coherent design than the old one. Smoother, softer, sportier. Young and fresh. Who says it looks like the c and s class must have something wrong with the vision. Yes the c and the s class look quite familiar but the e doesn't. The e's lamps are shorter and smaller. Personally I prefer the c/s class design

I'm really not following any marketing by bmw.. not Mercedes and I honestly can't speak to the E or 5 series. I've never driven those as they are a class above my budget. this is why I said in my original comment I said if get the C. I have however driven 3 series and c classes and in my opinion the 3 seems tighter and not buttoned down. in other words more sporty and dynamic. ironically.. I don't really care about that any more as I prefer the 'style' inside and out of the C class. over 3. I'm not in America, my last car was a 2010 Toyota Crown, think of it like a Lexus that's more didn't spung. I guess I'm getting old or maybe my tastes are changing
