Thanks for the video. I have been looking for a Macgregor parts place. I was also trying to figure out how to keep things from rolling out the back of the transom. Now I have both Ha Ha

very good idea! I thought that for my boat especially in order to protect my dogs from possible falls with the boat underway, but using a fishing ned holder, by way of not to lose visibility and do a caisson. Thank you for your video

Thanks! I lost a cell phone that bounced between my legs and into the drink. We had our son's dog with us and she fell into the engine well once. She had a life jacket on but I definitely like being able to easily close that hole.

Very nicely done :)

Nicely done. I watched your mast raising video first, having encountered it first. I wrongly complimented you on your Lake Powell trip of the summer of 16. I now realize it was Flaming Gorge Lake. Still a good trip and nicely presented.

You were correct. We did Lake Powell last year (2016). The year before, 2015, we did Flaming Gorge & Charleston. :) All fun trips and each very different from the others!

I saw this on BWY and thought it would be a good add. Your video convinced me too do it.

It's a nice improvement. Wish we would have done it years ago!

Hi, just purchased à Macgregor 26M. this is exactly what I need to do to prevent my 2 dogs from falling thru the transom. I heard you say this is "starboard" ? Where do you buy this. And where did you get the grooved rails please ? Thanks. Andre from 🇨🇦

I bought is as a kit from Blue Water Yachts. You could buy some starboard on amazon and get white trim for the plastic lattice board from Home Depot, Menards or Lowe's-- but the kit from BWY has everything already. (congrats on the new to you 26M!! ) I lost a smartphone that I dropped and it bounced through the open transom into the drink... that won't happen again! :)

If the starboard is reversible, why didn't you just cut a hole in one corner and flip it as necessary? I have lines run from both tanks, so I'd need both cut out, but if you're swapping the single line, you could have saved yourself a little time there I reckon. Either way, good to see the kit worked out for you!

Scott Taylor chuckle... very true, one corner cut out would be sufficient... i did two corners to make 8th them match --plus i didn't consider just flipping it... :)

Maybe it's a good time to run a second line to the other tank and install a diverter? Regardless, if it stops a phone from sliding into the drink, it's done it's job and the money is very well spent! Thanks for sharing.
