2017 Mopar LED Headlights for Jeep Wrangler JK & JKU Install

These are pricey, but a 100% improvement compared to the Stock Halogen Headlights. I had the J.W. Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 Series Headlights installed on my JKU for over 2 years and still love them, but I like the "look" of these Mopar LED Headlights even more. I wish I could post a picture, but rest assured, these look amazing! I used the Truck-Lite Anti Flicker Harness to resolve the Flickering Issue. @@TheAffliction4 - Yes. I still think the J.W. Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 Series Headlights are better than these Mopar LED Headlights, but both are still superior to the Stock Halogen Headlights.

For the flicker that will most likely occur - If they flicker you need have the dealer Flash the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) with sales code 5SX - This tells the TIPM that there are LED headlights. The PWM will be adjusted to provide the more consistent power the LED needs in order for it not to flicker.

I have these headlights installed on my 2017 JKU Sahara, and when I was going to order a dash cover, the site asked "with or without auto headlights", so I don't know what that means. Do you? TIA, Laura

When removing the old headlights and installing the new LED headlights, is there any issue with headlight beam alignment? Are the fog lights plug and go? Video?

you may need to re aim the headlights. The fogs are plug and play as well.

I wonder what they will cost on the option sheet for a 2017? Also, I wonder if they are heated, or can they frost over in the winter. I've got TruckLites and I love them, except I've had them freeze over a couple of times in snow/ice storms.

Picked up a 17 Rubi, these led headlights are an improvement over the previous halogen bulbs ... BUT, am interested in seeing if there are better alternative led headlight options. Definitely better than my older JK models, but led headlight upgrades are easily 400.00 and up. Kinda feel like Jeep cheaped out again on these "led headlights". The led fog lights are pretty decent.

There are several great LED options out there. The only downside to changing out the factory LED on the 17 Rubicon, is that Jeep integrated the headlight bucket into the light. So to switch to another light you would actually have to buy a headlight housing to make another headlight work in your JK. The least expensive option we have is the Crown housing at 74.99 per side www.quadratec.com/products/55220_0006.htm , and the Mopar version is 154.00 per side: www.quadratec.com/products/55001_0106_07.htm

I have a 2012 Rubicon will they work? Will I have to go to the dealer to have them "Flashed" whatever that means? Will they flicker? I found some for sale removed from a 2017 for $200 bucks, says minor damage to bucket mount, use JB weld to make secure fit. Thoughts?

size wise, yes, you could make it work. however, you would need to do some wiring to make it work. For a TJ you might be better off with one of the aftermarket LED headlights.

Pretty much, we had one come out unbroken. but the tough part is, the only way to get the old style bucket, is to buy the light and bucket combo from mopar.

the bucket is integrated in the light, so you won't have a bucket at all to mount the new light unless you buy a new one.

It may just be me, but this seems like a little too much work just for OE option headlights. These would have to be the best headlights out there for me to do all of this. I've been through three different sets of led headlights and loved them all, and they all installed way easier than these. Like I said, maybe it's just me but it just doesn't seem worth it, just to have some headlights that other people have as stock. Great video though!

Joseph Dowski The KC HiLites leds are good. Their new Gravity Pros are good to, but they don't fit the greatest. Peterson Manufacturing makes a great set, they are pretty much the guys that Trucklite copied off of, and they make the regular KC leds. I would just avoid OE lights, they will not put out as much light as aftermarket. If they did then a lot of light manufacturers would have gone out of business by now. It would be awesome if Hella would make a set of Jeep LED headlights, they have made all of their regular lights over the years as well as for many other companies. I'll have to look into it but they might make these. These lights in the video could be great, but most likely not good enough to justify all the modification to use them.

vegasdavetv You need to get it flashed at your local dealer. It can be done. I work at the Jeep dealership in the service department and have these on my Jeep no issue.

Is the flash code for the LED fog lights LNV required if upgrading to those from incandescent? Can 5SX and LNV codes be flashed simultaneously without any adverse consequences? I've heard 5SX fixes the headlight flicker, but LNV may not eliminate the fog light flicker. True?

I ordered my 2017 JK with LED upgrade seems like $500 bucks. No flicker super bright, so bright when I flash, them people think I'm a cop. My only concern is replacement cost, my warranty is gone and if I burnout a bulb 1. Where am I going to get one, dealer doesn't have one! 2. R & R sounds expensive At 70 Yrs, my wrenching days are behind me, I can barely tie my shoes LOL.
