@@bm.3759 No thats the proper way to pronounce it. I live in the UK where they sell it as the Qashqai and that's the way to pronounce it. Its named after an Egyptian god

My uncle in Europe bought it, at a time where no one could pronounce the name Qashqai (the q's are just pronounced like k's). He is very happy with the car, it's spacy, comfortable, reliable and has a great mileage.

I have one of these (2015 Qashqai) and it has been a good car to me. Had some minor issues (bluetooth connection didnt work and the engine fan started to fail prematurely but I noticed it on time), all fixed on warranty. 2 years and a half used regularly and the car doesnt have any suspension noises and very little interior rattles. The CVT is quite smooth and i personally like it. The 2 liter engine could be more powerful, but it delivers enough power for what the car is. The air conditioner on this car gets quite cold quickly and thats a plus on summer months 😁 Only downside is that my specific model didnt come with Michelin tires from the factory(they do get them from factory), and the tires it has are a bit on the noisy side.

The thing I find funny about the Rogue Sport/Qashqai, is that Nissan revealed the North American model in January and then facelifted the Euro model in March. Why didn't they just wait and reveal the facelift model in April for North America?

It sounds like you liked the CVT Kyle. I test drove a Nissan with CVT about 5 years ago and found it to be absolutely horrible. Within 5 minutes of starting the test drive we turned around and took it back and said no thanks, you can keep that nonsense. It was like the car was fighting back in response to the gas pedal by auto-depressing the clutch against you. The most horrible feeling ever. It's the reason that Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and whoever else offers only CVT automatics will never enter my potential next car choice.
@veemacks72557 жыл бұрын
So you're saying I'm not normal. True. You got me.
@alexs14297 жыл бұрын
Alien OrSutin he probably meant that you aren't very concerned with fuel economy as 90% of the people who buy these kind of cars.
@veemacks72557 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as a driver of a 4.7L V8 Biturbo I have to admit that fuel economy isn't my priority. Btw, I was test driving it with my g/f, it was her that was interested in the Nissan. I just had a drive too and hated it. She hated it too, considering switching from a 160hp dual clutch Golf. The idea of a CVT went straight out of the window.
@KrulciferEdenfelt7 жыл бұрын
Hyundai and Kia don't have CVTs sooooooo? Where are u getting this
@veemacks72557 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure while researching online the Kia Sportage and a Hyundai that would be in the same size/shape, I discovered that they're manual or CVT only. It's entirely possible that I got it wrong or it's Europe only (where I am).

A flat bottom steering wheel for the Rogue and not even a option on my Infiniti Q50 is a terrible decision.
@BoomboxMike17 жыл бұрын
Nissan should of made the Rogue Sport with an optional 6 speed manual with all wheel drive like Subaru does. With Subaru vehicles it don't matter whether a cvt or manual tranny, u would still get AWD. Nissan has a manual in Canada but with no AWD. AWD equipped only in auto tranny. That sux.

@kevman9497 жыл бұрын
I understand that you don't need 300 hp in these types of cars, but most of them seem underpowered for the segment. This car is going to be very slow with a poor power to weight ratio. Just based on watching you accelerate from a stop looked like 10-11 seconds to 60.
@essel23fly7 жыл бұрын
Most cars now at days are slightly underpowered. Companies are forced to comply with certain MPG requirements. Even audis and Mercedes have 2.0 litter 4 cylinders in their 50,000 dollar cars.

Carrington Hollister I think some of them are made in Smyrna others are imported from Korea at least that's how it is for the full size Rogues.
@essel23fly7 жыл бұрын
No this is confirmed all made in their Japanese plant. That alone makes this worth a buy. No need to buy a rogue that was snapped together in Tennessee, your steering wheel might fall off
@PhOeNiXpIoLe7 жыл бұрын
essel23fly they must be building them along side the Qashqai, just rebadging them for the US market, it makes sense, also I can tell you from 3 years of first hand experience that the US built Rogue is extremely reliable, in fact way more reliable than any other car I've owned.

Hmmm, how does it feel for you Americans to get the qashqai with a new name because Nissan thinks you guys are too 'hmmm' to pronounce the name qashqai?
@romulas-cushmanproject32736 жыл бұрын
It’s not that uncommon for car brands to change names from country to country, for example the ford Mondeo is called the Fusion in the US. It’s nothing to do with intelligence levels it’s just market appeal strategies
@BroVCam6 жыл бұрын
In addition, a lot of international brands interchange name plates due to licensing issues. Nearly all of Nissan"s world wide models carry different names. I do wish Nissan named this one differently though. Adding Sport without the sport does appear to come off as playing on consumers intelligence, lol. Go figure.
@romulas-cushmanproject32736 жыл бұрын

Why couldn't they of either put the 1.6T in it, or build a three cylinder turbo.. this 2.0 is so boring. I also don't understand why they don't offer a base trim manual. The Mazda CX-3 is a way better vehicle for the money. The horn sound is disgusting too.
