Initially, the Porsche Panamera Turbo has the most powerful petrol engine of the model series. Its 4.0-litre biturbo V8 develops 550 horsepower / 404 kWat 5,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 770 Nm between 1,960 and 4,500 rpm. It has 30 hp more power than the previous model, and its maximum torque has been increased by 70 Nm. The eight-cylinder engine accelerates the Panamera Turbo to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds; with the Sport Chrono Package the sprint time is just 3.6 seconds. The Porsche can reach a top speed of 306 km/h (190 mph). These are impressive figures that illustrate just how easily the engine can propel the Panamera with its power-to-weight ratio of just 3.6 kg/hp.
Porsche uses complex twin-scroll turbochargers to supply compressed air to the V8’s combustion chambers. The two counter-rotating chargers produce maximum torque figures at very low engine speeds. The Panamera Turbo is also the first Porsche to be equipped with the new adaptive cylinder control in its engine. In part-load operation, the system temporarily and imperceptibly turns the eight-cylinder into a four-cylinder engine. This reduces fuel consumption by up to 30 per cent, depending on power demand in the four-cylinder phases.
The 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine of the Panamera 4S develops a maximum power of 440 hp/ 324 kW (20 hp more than the previous model); it is already available at 5,650 rpm. Between 1,750 and 5,500 rpm, the new six-cylinder delivers 550 Nm (30 Nm more) to the drive axles. The Panamera 4S can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds (4.2 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package). With a top speed of 289 km/h (179 mph), this Porsche also approaches the 300 km/h mark.
Like the eight-cylinder engine of the Panamera Turbo, the six-cylinder engine of the Panamera 4S also has petrol direct-injection injectors that are positioned in the combustion chamber. This injector position offers optimal combustion, maximum efficiency and very good engine response. The 4S and Turbo are also characterised by exceptionally full-bodied and authentic sound.

Alfa Giulia did the same in 7:32. That are SIX seconds. And the driver was in t-shirt and jeans. No roll cage or whatever they modified in the Panamera. Juast a standard Giulia Quadrifoglio

There is nothing removed, there is just additionnal equipment mounted.

1) RIDICULOUS !! This car HAS A ROLLCAGE even if I am not a wundebar german engineer this adds a superior body rigidity . This is ONLY seen in track ready cars..... Ich bin nicht sufriden :( 2) COMPARISONS with other Porsche supercars on this track Ever since VW cheated I am leary of ANY GERMAN CHEST THUMPING

Was redest du denn? Das Ding ist halt darauf abgestimmt auf dem Ring eine gute Zeit zu liefern, kann man doch im Alltag fahren? Wo umgebaut? Ich sehe nur einen Käfig zur Sicherheit der mehr Gewicht hinzufügt und einen anderen Sitz ebenfalls zur Sicherheit der aus Carbon ist um das Gewicht wieder auszugleichen. Denk mal nach, das sind Straßenreifen und keine Cup Reifen wie sie von fast allen anderen Herstellern verwendet werden.

Du weißt bescheid über das Auto, erzähle uns mehr bitte. Warst du dabei, gehörst du zum Team, hast du die Reifen gesehen, welche Mischung hatten sie, TWI vielleicht?! Ich zweifel nichts an, ich behaupte aber auch nichts, ich bin lediglich skeptisch.Alles auf die Nase binden lasse ich mit nicht, von keinem Hersteller oder Firma. Was dort wirklich war, weiß nur Porsche und ob die uns alles sagen, vielleicht, vielleicht auch nicht. Ich meine, wir wissen es ja besser von einigen anderen Herstellern welche uns schon Bären aufbinden wollten.

itr3124 Stimmt, über das Auto lassen sich alle nötigen Infos im Internet finden. Zudem arbeitet mein Vater bei Porsche und hat genau diesen Motor mitentwickelt und das nicht als Prüfstandsfahrer. Also ja, ich weiß über das Auto Bescheid.

Ok, dann ist ja gut. Aber etwas beeinflusst bist du dann auch durch deinen Dad, was man dir aber dann nicht übel nehmen kann. :) Ich sehe das nüchtern, andere Hersteller fahren auch ähnliche Zeiten, werden aber nicht so gehypt bzw. ist der Hype nicht so groß. Die Leistung ist aller Ehren wert keine Frage, aber andere können das auch, deswegen hat mich das jetzt weniger soo extrem beeindruckt. Das die Kiste top ist und schnell, sehe ich genauso. Aber wie gesagt, was das Serienfahrzeug im Vergleich wirklich, wird sich zeigen, die Zeit wird er in einem normalen Test, sicher nicht fahren, und dieser ist dann aber Vergleichbar. Ist bei den anderen Rekordfahrten genauso, auf die gebe ich nicht so viel, eher auf die Tests der SportAuto o.ä..

itr3124 Ja gut, der Hype gilt immer dem schnellsten. Vergleichbar mit WM/EM Finale, der Gewinner wird gefeiert, der 2te jedoch schon nicht mehr weil ist halt nur Platz 2 wenn du verstehst was ich damit meine =)

Not extraordinary impressive. Alfa Giulia 7.39 with less hp, or 2010 Subaru WRX STi with 300hp 7.55. The Nordschleife is maybe the worst track to compare cars, driver or what ever in different conditions. And no one knows whats the truth or not.

Why do people with no clue of physics always think they have to comment. Think about the weight factor, the Panamera weighs about 2 tons, and the Alfa? Maximum of 1660kg. First think, then comment. And you must be an engineer that youre able to decide whether the ring suits for comparisons xD

Do you know me?!? Rather not! And yes, but weight is just one of a few factors. You must be an engineer as well, that youre able to know the weight of cars they not yet at the market. I have only said, there are many factors and nobody knows how the time comes about. The SportAuto tell us soon, which skills the car(s) have for real. ;)

Ich seh schon, mit dir kann man doch normal reden. :) Ja wir werden sehen was bei rauskommt. Ich fahr die NS auch ziemlich oft, daher kann man abschätzen was geht und was nicht bzw. was alles Einfluss auf die Rundenzeit hat. Es kommt einfach sehr viel zusammen, vergleichen lässt sich auf dieser Strecke somit eher weniger gut, weil da viele andere Faktoren als nur das Fahrzeug ausschlaggebend sind. Zum Abstimmen ist sie aber perfekt.
