Congratulations Mikhail! Not perfect, but a wonderful, solid performance. He is a well rounded skater who has great jump technique, good spins, good skating, and also expressive. Looking forward to his performances at Europeans and Worlds. Thank you for the upload.

He also needs to keep his energy up towards the end of the program. His conditioning needs a little work still.

what does she say at 5:30? Kolu means ... ? what is that?
@alexandralisogor72727 жыл бұрын
She says'"kolyaduem za kolyadu", this is what the poster that the camera shows reads. Her translation, though, is somewhat inaccurate since in Russian "kolayda" actually stays for a pre-Christian Slavic holiday, today incorporated into Christmas. "Kolyaduem" is a verbal form of a noun. The meaning (for the verb) is to perform caroling while visiting houses of friends, relatives or neighbors. Very much like Halloween's trick or treat tradition. So the sentence may be roughly translated as : "Trick or treat for Kolyada!"

On rewatching the video... She uses the word 'koldun' which does mean a sorcerer (in which case her translation is correct but for that word only, not for Michael's name) and appears to have the same root as 'kolyada'... * nerd mode off * :)

Thank you! I'm Russian so I just wanted to know her English interpretation cause I don't know the word 'sorcerer'. Just wondered how she explained that :)) So it's kind 'We are making sorcery for Kolyada'

Она сказала 'Колдун means sorcerer' - фамилию Коляда она интерпретировала как колдун (явно русским языком владеет комментатор, прочла плакат и поняла смысл, хоть и не точно)
