@Andrew V Plus, there are reliability issues to consider. The GT350 will be in the shop and make it a second home if you drive it consistently aka don't treat it like it's meant to be treated (track day car). The GT makes sense for long run dependency and peace of mind.

We had a 2015 GT Premium with Performance Pack, a 2018 GT Premium, Performance Pack 1, magneride, active exhaust, digital dash. We now have a 2017 Shelby GT350, and I just traded my 2018 for a 2019 Shelby GT350, hands down the GT350 is superior in all ways to the GT. Don't get me wrong, I loved my GT, she was an amazing car, but the GT350 is like no other mustang ou there, it is just perfect in my opinion. I am grateful it is in only a manual, I had the 10 speed auto in the 2018 and hated it, it would never gear right, I was always down shifting it, in all the modes. These are our weekend cars and in my opinion, the best cars we could of chose!

Shelby to 5.0 is like 5.0 to ecoboost. It's just a whole other feeling thats far superior. Thing that sucks about shelbys in general though is any non car guy will think it's just another 30k ecoboost. It doesent really look that different. New GT500 looks much more distinct with the cobra badges.

It sucks for people who gets Shelby’s as a symbol of status. I own a 350R and actually like the fact that only car people know what it is. I’ve seen some acts of jealousy done on high end cars such as keying the vehicle or harming it other ways. Another plus is no one disrespects your property and has their fingerprints all over taking photos with it if they don’t know what it is

GT350 if you want the Shelby name (even if it's not a real Shelby), and the GT for the best reliability. Ideally, the Mach 1 HP is the best option. Best of both worlds.

I daily drive my Shelby and absolutely love it!! Fun meter is pegged every time I press start. Was looking for a brand new gt but like you mentioned.. the cost of a used 350 and a new fully loaded gt are the same. In 2 years the gt is worth half what the 350 is and the 350 is twice the car and almost twice the fun. It's just special and drives great. I went without the Recaro's because it is a daily and it was a great choice for me. Both are great cars though, enjoyed the video!

I'll also add that I've put 30k miles on it in 18 months and other then oil changes and adding a quart every 3k miles, is been perfect mechanically. Certainly there are those who have had issues with theirs but look enough and every car model has had issues.

I drive my GT350 Daily to work which is 7 miles of Bliss every day! Get to work and Drive my Black Ops Raptor to appointments. I look forward to getting back in the GT350 every day to go home. Sometimes I take the long way home! If your a car guy the GT350 is on a level that you can really appreciate every time you drive! The 10 speed Auto is too many gears for my taste. Smooth but kind of blah.

I owed a ‘17 GT premium pp 6-speed with 401A. It was a great car and I enjoyed it. I then traded it for a fully optioned ‘19 GT350 and I couldn’t be happier. I daily it and absolutely love it. The engine is amazing and the handling is awesome. I get at least one thumbs up from people everyday, as well.

Sorry but the 5.0 GT 10 speed is better bag for your buck… I can get a brand new gt premium for 42-50k. 0 miles versus spending the same amount of money for probably a 3 year older car and with previous owners… gt350 isn’t even that much faster than a stock 5.0. Add 2 mods and u will be faster than a stock 350.

2020 GT owner here. To me there’s almost no comparison. GT is a great car for the money but gt350 is far superior. It has much better chassis and that covers suspension, brakes, aero, transmission, cooling, steering, and engine. Not to say a regular GT is a bad car, it’s far from that but I’d chose gt350 all day. I didn’t buy one personally because it is out of my budget at the moment. Still Love my GT but if I had the extra 20k I’d go gt350.

Cool the way you all compared the two! I’m getting the 2017 Shelby GT 350. This was the perfect video, in that I had Wanted to buy a 2022 GT, or a 2016-2018 Shelby GT 350 for around the same price. In the end you can’t go wrong with whatever choice. I do have the luxury of having a company F-150 as daily driver and would like a car for fun and to hopefully keep since the VUDU engine may not be made by Ford any more? Thanks guys!

We also called the Shelby superior to the GT everywhere except a daily drive or cross country trips, mostly due to its seats not fitting the big weird guy. I hope you enjoyed it, because we sure did. Jesus....these guys missed the most GLARING difference between the 2 cars....the transmissions. A huge dealbreaker for me is the chinese 6spd in the GT. I have to take the GT350 with the Tremec. If the GT had the Tremec, I would chose it all over the Shelby.

I would argue that neither pony car is "bad" or even lacking. But, for me, if I had all the money in the world, and I could afford any exotic/super car on the planet, I would go with a GT 350 hands down, every time. Yes, you can build the same car with mostly the same aftermarket parts far cheaper. Yes, there are "better" cars. But there is something about the look, feel (I presume, lol), and sound of the Shelby GT 350 that simply cannot be replicated. If God had a fleet of cars, I'm sure it would include several GT 350s.

Loved the gt350 when it came out but the motor is garbage.. there is more failures then good running ones all over KZbin. It is supposed to be a bullet proof track car and is sitting parked with a oil pool under it most of its life lol… it revs to 8000-8500. Stock 5.0 gt is one of the most reliable motors made and still revs to 7500-8000rpms? With the 10 speed it destroys the gt350 at the drag strip and on roll racing anyways lol. If you wanna track the car only then the gt350 of course is better but if it’s not reliable then who cares?
