You can use your phone as a key?? You still need the fob don’t you?

With the older Model X and S you can use your phone as a key with no fob, but you need to manually open the car and start it using the app, where its auomatic now with the new S and X and always has been with the 3 and Y. Sometimes it can have connection issues so with the older X and S I recommend keeping a fob at least for backup. There have been a few times where I have been stuck outside the car for 5 minutues because my phone was have connection issues with the Tesla and I left the fob at the dealership.

How old we talking here? I have a 2018. Can I leave my fob in the car at the gym and lock it with my app?

All the way to 2013 when the S first came out you can open and start it with the app. I wouldnt leave your fob in your car in any situation, someone can break in and find the fob and take the car. You can do a PIN to drive and PIN to open glovebox and put the fob in there, but I think if the car detects a fob it would automatically unlock if someone touches the door handle, so you would have to go into the settings and see if you can disable that feature.

Oh come on, you can buy wiper blades anywhere and they’re 2 seconds to fit….ffs. 😂 but a handy feature, just not the best example. 😅

What is your time worth? You can take an hour out of your day to drive to the auto parts store, or you take a minute to make an appointment on your app and someone from Tesla will come to your home or work and install them for you. They will also check the air in all your tires and perform any software updates. Maybe not for you, but I think many people would love that type of service.
