How is the seat comfort in this car? Also, would you get this, or a ‘21 Camry SE? The Camry has my interest, but I am a little concerned about the 8 speed transmission. I’ve read many negative reviews about it. The Avalon has the old, butter smooth 6 speed transmission.

2018 if you want reliability and luxury. Avalon is the better car

Pretty much every modern car seat is quite uncomfortable for long car rides. I drove my Avalon up to Atlanta which was about 8 hours and it didn't take long for my butt bone to hurt, although I'm pretty thin and don't have much cushioning down there. Personally I'd choose the Avalon just because it's nicer and rarer than a camry
