This is an excellent review on the Corolla. The announcer has a pleasant easy to listen voice. That translates to a quality video. There are reasons the Corolla has been around decades. It is a quality built car that can last and last.

I just rented one of these and loved it. I've had the Focus which wasn't my favorite and then the Sentra. Sentra by far was the worst. I fell in love with the toyota and have even considered buying one!

That sickly thing about this car is that you have to spend $22,000 to get heated seats. Most cars in this class offer that as a option on a lower trim.
@100RentalCars7 жыл бұрын
+Disney Fan That is strange. And I do love my heated seats...especially in February.

That Mirage G4 with the SE Package for around $12, 500 comes with them.. a GT Hatch also has them standard.
@100RentalCars7 жыл бұрын
+djkenny A GT Hatchback? For serious? Alright, THAt I want to try.
@djkenny12027 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, there is really little performance advantage at all. It has 15" wheels (some say it is slightly more planted in heavier winds), some fancier front headlights, the heated seats are it's real stand out if you want the heated seats in the hatch.. but you can get those on the SE G4 sedan as well (that also comes with the same equipment). Not sure why they called it a "GT" for the Hatch.
@davinp6 жыл бұрын
yeah and the heat steering wheel is only on the XSE. Yet the door mirrors are heated on all trim levels

The road noise is completely out of hand. If you buy one, get it dampened, otherwise you will lose your hearing over time. I already had to set up an appointment with my hearing doctor.
@100RentalCars7 жыл бұрын
I gotta be honest, I didn't even know you could get a dampener on a car like this. Any idea how much it would cost?
@shanesweeney6787 жыл бұрын
Damping: to reduce resonance in the room, by absorption or redirection (reflection or diffusion). Absorption will reduce the overall sound level, whereas redirection makes unwanted sound harmless or even beneficial by reducing coherence. Damping can reduce the acoustic resonance in the air, or mechanical resonance in the structure of the room itself or things in the room or car.

+SHANE SWEENEY Oh, I know what it is. I just wasn't aware that it was an additional option you could pay for when purchasing a car. I've never seen it listed as an option anywhere.

How dramatic can you be? We have a 2015 with 75k on it and cupped, bald tires and its not that bad. Yes it has more noise than normal but not enough to go to a hearing doctor

That clock was a deal breaker for me. We had a clock like that in our car when I was a kid in 1980. Jesus Christ Toyota!!!!!!!!
@100RentalCars6 жыл бұрын
What? It's retro! It is funny how one little design element can totally turn you off to a car, right? I'm the same way about the Chrysler 300. Nice car, tons of great features, but it has a stupid analog clock in the center of the dash that drives me absolutely crazy. The clock is right above the touch screen that has....a digital clock. Ahhhhh!!! Anyway, thanks the comment. Have a great night.

The horn is ridiculous on this car
@100RentalCars7 жыл бұрын
+Adrian Marcel I'm not sure I even noticed. It's super wimpy, right? The horn on Toyota's usually sound like "ummmm....excuse me please" compared to a Dodge which sounds like "GET THE F*** OUT OF MY WAY!"

Meh Toyotas are just like kitchen appliances lol. Takes you from point A to point B and does it well but with no excitement. If I was buying a car myself in this segment I would honestly go with a Honda Civic or perhaps a Chevy Cruze. The Honda Civic even in base trim is livable and you can buy the Honda Sensing package for a few thousand to go with it ( EX and up it is standard?). I notice you rent from National, Enterprise or Alamo exclusively. If priced similar why not try National? National let's you choose your car to an extent so you can have a little more choice to review cars.
@100RentalCars7 жыл бұрын
+Ben Dunn I agree that this is not a very exciting car. Frankly, for $20k, I'd probably buy a Prius C or a civic. And I drive these cars for work, so I don't really have a choice of where I rent from. If the opportunity presents itself, I'll definitely take your advice and try National.
@melmar077 жыл бұрын
Ben Dunn It doesn't matter if you buy the highest trim level Honda Civic, Honda sensing is still a $1000 option unlike Toyota.
@elliekim66667 жыл бұрын
Gray Falcon Meh even still at $1,000 you get a better car.
@djkenny12027 жыл бұрын
The Toyota Corollas tend to be avail for 15k in the LE trim. Honda tends to be hard to negotiate with, likely 17k for a base model. As long as you stick with a manual, the Honda is not a bad choice. They tend to make bad automatics. Toyota, they make bullet proof ones.
