Nature aspirated engine/sound will never come back. Even the current 540i is as fast as the E60 M5 now. For the sake of high tech, modern interior, performance, kicking ass on the road, u should change it

The F90 has a slushbox automatic transmission with a torque converter. The SMG can shift directly from 7th to 3rd gear while the F90 has to run through each gear to get to 3rd.

thats a huge flex, better than any other car in its price range for 2018. cant wait to see what aftermarket exhausts will be available for this monster. also cant wait to see the new M6

Me neither! Aftermarket exhausts would do well for the F90 M5. On a side note, there is no more M6. They've moved that vehicle now to the 8 Series badge, so we have to wait for the new M8, which should be coming later this year!

I'm not sure they are doing that with the F90. I've heard they've been able to let some of the sound come through the cabin because of the new exhaust work. It's definitely louder than the F10 from what it appears, but have no real sources to prove it though.

Stock exhaust. The mic is placed outside right next to the pipes, so what you are hearing is the true exhaust note, unfiltered.

You don't need to worry. Once you drive the F90 M5 you won't find a need to tune it. The exhaust noise and 600 hp is plentiful.

Yes still stock exhaust, nothing modified. Keep in mind the mic is placed right next to exhaust. So what you're hearing in the video is what you hear from the exhaust, not from the interior / speakers.

This is the best car that BMW has ever made, we need to move on, you are blessed if you have an E60. M5 but this car is better than the E60 by all means, better than the RS7 and the E634matic s by all means, it's going to be the fastest sedan in the segment no doubt. it's so amazing how quick that conventional box is. amazing engineering from BMW. The only let down on this car is the V8 exhaust, bad decisions from the M board, otherwise, the all time King has snatched the crown, long live the benchmark, superior car by all means, the interior is the best in the segment, the purpose of this car is really full on comfort, but sports precision otherwise people who complain about glits should by the S/7/A8 this car is a combination of fait comfort and sportiness hence the ride will be firmer...BMW knows how to build a performance car, they started this, they will always lead this..

They're not programmed. For some mad reason BMW decided to replace the DCT with an 8 speed ZF Auto, which produces those farts on upshifts

thats because a dkg is a lot heavier and more expensive. if they didn't go for the tq converter, this car would weigh more than the f10. awd makes a difference in weight, too.

I don't like the farting & Popcorn sounds , Bmw is all about a smooth engine sound not all this farting noise. Also notice how you get a high Air noise , all i can hear is turbo sucking in Air , no proper engine noise. Bmw should stick to what they do best , instead of trying to be like Audi & Vw with all the fake farting noise , this is a M5 not a Golf

This car is a full on beast. I love those burbles. Very sporty and the handling is absolutely incredible. I know it's no E39 M5 but I was amazing at how good it was with the all-wheel drive. I rented one through #Turo - > goo.gl/m1yF5V

Comparing it to other videos the fart noise is much more muted inside the cabin, TopgearNL has a good POV video and you can barely hear any farting at all there.
