I am in the market for a muscle car and I am looking for the ZL1 - 1LE but I keep hearing the ride is too hard for daily driving? I don't think so. But I have 17 WRX STi and ride is a little hard but you can live with that. So how bad is the ZL1 - 1LE?
@FutureGameLight4 жыл бұрын
@dabz if you cant handle it you can change to K&W V3 suspension. much smoother and pretty much as capable on the track. they cost like 2 or 3k

Glad to see you review this one, I just went from NSX to this exact model, with 865 wheel. This isn't a car for a bumpy road, it's a track car and a hell of a blast to drive.

Those traction issues can easily be solved by a street tire (Michelin PS4S). The stock tires take a long time to get heat in them (stiff sidewall also does not help with the ride quality as this is meant for the track only). With those PS4S tires, this car becomes one of the finest backroad carving tools this side of Detroit. Ask me how I know 😉

The GT350's and GT350R's are being sold at MSRP or below right now as well. They were selling them with markup when they first came out, but for the last year they've been sitting on lots and are really trying to clear them out to make way for the GT500.
@FutureGameLight4 жыл бұрын
honestly i dont think that the zl1 1le is to hard for the road, i just think that you construction workers wore a blindfold while making these streets. i drove one over the german Autobahn and it was so nice + our backroads are really good so i never felt that abused by the car, like many people say. its still harsh though but i have expirienced much much harsher tuning suspensions. so its not that bad even more so if you have good streets.

Great owner and car! I’d love to see you review the SS 1LE. I think it would be more canyon friendly. Also has great steering and shifter. I’ve only done a test drive but I was very impressed. The SS non-1LE is also a great machine and they’re getting under $25k used. The Mustangs I’ve driven, none Shelby’s, felt handled and handle badly imho. The Camaro is purpose built.

@@Zygrene Really hope you get to take his out there. Everything you said about the car on the mountain roads (totally recognized all of those, haha) is completely true. Not very fun as a weekend cruiser or cruiser in general. I've taken mine to Alice's once or twice and literally got air off all four tires at the same time at one point. Not confidence inspiring at all; however, you will certainly find the opposite experience at the track. Quite literally one of the best cars for under $100k ever for track use. Just please please note that you need to warm up the tires completely (Goodyear 3Rs) before getting on it. I've seen bad things happen to multiple owners when not expecting how slippery they are.

I just picked up my 2020 zle last week and these R compounds are like ice skating. Especially since its cooler here and a little wet in the bay area now :( @turnintrackout a little birdy at porsche told me you trading up to a gt3. What prompted that?
@TurninTrackOut5 жыл бұрын
@@SVBoosted I'm sure I will have a lot of videos coming to talk about the going of the Camaro and the coming of the GT3(RS?)...To answer simply: the Camaro is the most fun and everything I'm looking for as a track car. When I bought the car I had my truck, a trailer, and a daily. I got rid of everything but the Camaro and want something more dynamic to keep it to 1 car (or maybe 2 if adding a crappy daily). I drove the Camaro today and it's killing my soul that it will be gone soon. When I trailer'd the car and/or only used it at the track, I never had the thought of selling it. ...that and I'm in the position in my life now to get the next car. It's something I've wanted to do and partially why I downsized 'the family.'
