After doing many water pump recalls the best way I have found to drain coolant is to just positioning the power steering reservoir to the side and use a pair pliers to open the petcock and use a pressure tester to speed the draining process up
@triple_j52524 жыл бұрын
I do the same! Flat rate life.

I mean never worked at Dodge but if the manual says drain coolant I just assume whatever I'm removing all coolant needed to drain will do so when the parts removed no need to drain extra
@triple_j52524 жыл бұрын
@@TonySmith-ni7bg Anything recall or warranty related pays the mechanic about half of what it should. Quick and clean is key. Plus they expect us to reuse the coolant. Can't have it all nasty when it goes back in. Either way it keeps from making a huge mess and having to take time to rinse it off when you're done, but then again not all techs are created equal.

@johnathan horn I worked for Chevy if we had a recall dealing with coolant it was charged out on the ro no exceptions and a quick wash with a hose after cleaned up all mess

I was talking to the snap on guy today. He has a coolant vacuum kit in the Father’s Day catalog that lets you hold a vacuum when doing service stuff like thermostats and coolant bypass without draining and refilling. It also refills like a champ. Check it out, report back.

My factory clutch started slipping at 30k miles, stock truck. Took out my trans to put in same clutch and the rear main was leaking. Went front a weekend to a two weekend project. Also was a little more difficult with tree hugger tank, had to drop it too.

Why Southbend over Valair? Asking because I will be upgrading soon.
@Haydini694 жыл бұрын
I have a Valair dual ceramic and personally think it drives way better than the south bend but they both are rated the same. Some of my buddies with south bend are switching to Valair for their next clutch. When I was trying to decide I watched a podcast with the owner of Valair and he said if you ever have questions call their shop, information is free. So I called to ask some questions and no shit the owner answered the phone and talked to me for 20 minutes and I didn’t even purchase that day
