A nicely prepared and presented review, might be tempted to trade up my 800 Icon... what a beautiful part of the world you ride in. Nice job 👍🏻

Thank you and thanks for subscribing. It's a very nice bike that's getting overlooked. The 800 is very nice as well. Here is the link to my written review - if you need more propaganda. :-) atastefortheroad.com/2018-scrambler-ducati-1100-special/

You mentioned the Monster 1100 Evo, and I've got to say, this engine was very different in that bike. It had 2 throttle bodies, instead of the single in this bike. It was a bear in traffic as under 4000rpm it would buck and snort and cough. You definitely wouldn't be waving at anybody in a roundabout at 5 mph!

Great vid. Any opinion on how the pillion would feel about those high mufflers?
@atastefortheroad44753 жыл бұрын
Mike - thank you. I think they are out of the way enough to not be a problem. As there are demos around, bring your favorite companion along and give it a try first.

How’s the engine heat? Very hot in summer time? In Hong Kong summer usually over 30C , don’t know whether I can handle it or not....🤔🤔Thx
@atastefortheroad44754 жыл бұрын
While there is heat, the Ducati air-cooled aren't particularly bad - IMHO. Because the Scambler is "open" - meaning the engine isn't covered in plastic shrouds, the heat can escape. The rear cylinder will throw off some heat and in heavy traffic at 30C, there is no getting around it. With some protective gear I think you'd be OK. I hope this helps.

Did you buy? I live in HK too. I love the look of the bike and have just this week test rode an 1100 at Ducati HK. Even though we have very cold weather this week (for us) 5-8 deg. I still felt some heat while stationary. So I have a KTM 950SM and that can cook your calves in traffic in summer, so I'm wondering how the duke will do in a HK summer... 90% humidity and 28-30 deg, C...

What's it like off road?
@atastefortheroad44754 жыл бұрын
On some gravel tracks it would be fine as the MT60s have a good tread pattern. But the bike isn't designed for serious dirt stuff. True of many scramblers, really. The 1100 is a very friendly road bike at heart. Worth mentioning too is that there are leftovers around so some very good deals should be available.
