Wow! That kind of bus is a lot quieter than diesel and CNG. 1st Student in Minnesota has these kinds of electric Bluebirds. 100% of rear engine buses are equipped with only air brakes regardless of whether you're taking a CNG-powered bus or an electric bus like these, but they're pricey.

Jordanian Prince with there new truck chassis ( don’t know if I spelled it right ) and how they have the big screen and they could make a software to code every stop and that could help bus driver and it will voice say Stop here ; and if more special bus for like church they could put a screen where the normal light on a school to make church bus more safety 👍🏻 that tells people when the church bus is about to stop 😂😱👍🏻

🚌Nice video Dilly. This bus is interesting, because it’s new technology but, I’m not sold on the idea. With an internal combustion (diesel or gasoline) engine bus, you could conveniently drive it on long trips and purchase fuel anywhere, if necessary. I’m not sure of the range on this electric bus, but I’m sure it’s limited. It’s probably only good on city routes. Also, I can NOT see how this bus could be more economical than a diesel, either. I think I heard the man say one battery is $7000. Also, I think he said $20k or $30k for a new motor. It looks cool but, for the price, I doubt we’ll see a lot of districts opting for this model anytime soon. Even less likely to see contractors opting to purchase these, because contractors are certainly more interested in profits than the school districts with their own fleets. Dillon, you should have told the man to get his ass out of the driver’s seat, so you could test drive it.😂 Awesome video again. Thanks for sharing. It was good to hear your voice.👍🏻😊

I would imagine there are a lot of government rebates for purchasing a bus like this. But you pretty much hit all the reasons why no one will buy them. It cost a dollar to go ~8.5 miles, which is decent. I challenge anyone who thinks Hybrids are clean to go try mining some Lithium in a Chinese lithium mine for the Lithium Ion batteries in these hybrids. All it is, is relocating the pollution to power plants and other places.

Image what a Tesla school bus would look like do have big display for driver ability to custom set up map for rotes and have a way to see the light system but not like a normal but a 3D look to monitor the light to see if they are work and if it does have camera on it easier to catch running a stop sign school bus. LOL maybe even solar panels look but I do want to see this bus.

If the traction motor is a brushless design ( no carbon brushes) the motor should last at least a 500,000 miles. Tesla electric cars all use brushless motors. And very few have failed. I wouldn't worry about the traction motor failing as you have a much higher possibility of a Diesel engine failing. Remember, unlike a diesel bus, no cooling system other than the battery management system, no fan belts, no transmission, no freezing you butt off fueling the bus, and if Blue Bird puts it in you can turn the heat or AC on from the garage or home if you take the bus home from your cell phone. Driving is unlike anything you've ever driven, no shifting gears because they don't exist, smooth application of power and if your not careful you can knock kids on their butt because unlike a diesel you don't have to wait for the engine to rev up to create horsepower from a dead stop it has full power and torque. Be prepared for the kids to pepper you with questions about how much power does it have, how fast will it go? Today's kids love electric vehicles. If blue bird uses a cell phone app so you can turn on your heat or AC it shouldn't affect your range because one of the pretrip items will be unplug the charging cable from the bus otherwise the control system won't let you move the bus. My next door neighbor has a Tesla model S and he parks it outside the garage so his wife's car is nice and warm. His first winter storm dumped 9 inches of snow, he simply turned on the heat via his Tesla cell phone app and set the heat to 90 and one hour later when he walked out there wasn't a spec of snow on the car, unplugged hung up the cord, climbed into the car reset the heat to 72 and shifted to drive and on his way. Cheers!
