Great car I've never had any major issues. The thing anyone should be aware of when buying secondhand is that the 1.0L engine needs a new cambelt at 60k miles, cost is around £1200, so if you see any check the belt has been done, some are changed on recall due to known issue so check this too.

I bought a civic brand new in aug 2018 & purchased 5 year service plan to help maintain car!. It's only done 32500 miles! Had it's 5th year service a month ago, passed MOT just over a week ago & has had intermittent acceleration issues for last 10 months which I did tell Honda about several times. Using the car for holiday a week ago, acceleration was awful & oil warning light came on with wavy line underneath. It's gone into Honda yesterday and today I was told it's the fuel injector that's faulty & cylinder 2 has issues and some valves need replacing & cleaned! Total cost £3686!!!! I am shocked! I've complained to Honda about how you can justify that issue & price for the amount of miles driven & having it serviced by Honda every year! My car should be on 62000 miles by now normally! If they don't lower the cost for me by a lot, I'll sell the car & never buy a Honda again!

@@NHC-nf6xh that's good news. For what I've heard it's a matter of condensation, so it depends on 2 factors: 1- how long you drive it every time. If you drive it long enough to warm up the engine completely, you'll likely avoid the problem 2- The weather. If you live in a warm/dry climate, you have little to worry about. I live in Germany, where it's cold and humid, and usually drive for 15 minutes or less, so I'm the best candidate to have oil dilution problems should they occur. @@NHC-nf6xh really? I've been advised that the best way to warm up the engine is to actually drive, only waiting as long as you need to fasten your seat belt and drive off. In general, Civic G10 diesel EX is excellent, economic. ergonomic, silent. The cluster have all the info you need, very clear. You have physical buttons to control AC. If you compare... there is no better option, is the clever choice.
