2018 Honda Odyssey Power Tailgate Troubleshooting and Repair

My Power Tailgate stopped working and the van would beep while driving it. I wound up replacing the tailgate module and chased down the leak.
What’s the part number for the module?

Bro! Thanks for the video! I have the same problem but didn’t bother to look further into it besides the module but after watching your video, I looked under the trunk rug and lo and behold it is def soaked!! Smh ! Will be doing what you did soon !

Thank you sooooo much for this video! Our 2020 Odyssey has the same issue. I read that there was a leak that would damage the control module. I didn't realize it might be something I could fix myself!!! Will be trying this soon. Thank you!!!

Good job, especially for taking off the roof rail cover and finding it cracked into this area as well. I believe (just my thoughts here) that Honda never did a longevity with this sealant/adhesive. If you have gone on to the ODY Forum on Generation 5 ODY's you would find a lot of the same failures, even in the cargo well areas have some fairly good gaps and water coming in . People that, leave their rear seats down find the seats saturated with water and the metal on the seats rusted out as well. Thanks Honda you may need to change your quality control for all metal joints!😠
