Brief review of 2018 Hungarian GP Qualifying: 1. Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton. I am a Vettel fan but I must admire he's heck lot superior in rain and I like this kinda title fight. 2. Mercedes front row lockout in a Ferrari suited track. Says a lot of unpredictability. Rain can change everything. 3. Congratulations to Haas, Toro, and Sainz for making it upto Q3. 4. If you wonder why Hulk's car didn't make out from Q2, if was because of faulty fuel hose at the pit or something. I maybe wrong. You can correct me. 5. Ericsson outqualifying Leclerc. Was interesting to watch. Hope Leclerc going outta Q3 wasn't Ericsson's fault haha! 6. Alonso why are you mad when all you gotta do is motivate yourself and drive and not argue with your team engineer. 7. I don't see any much improvement at Mclaren after switching to Renault from Honda except finishing races maybe? 8. Ricciardo paid the price for putting Softs instead of Ultras at the beginning. 9. I gotta say I was impressed with Toro Rosso and it's drivers capabilities. Kudos. 10. The most important part of Hungary. Whoever wins at Hungary.... I will leave it upto you! In races sure. But these results were more who set their lap at the right time. In Q3 you wanted to be the final driver to do a lap because conditions improved. Grosjeans final run was fucked by Max. His lap was 4 seconds slower than Carlos showing how much better it was at the end of the session. Now look at the order in which the top 4 did their laps. Vettel did his first, Raikkonen second, Bottas third and Lewis fourth. Don't need to be a genius.

Awesome from Hamilton . Both Finns have really improved in the wet this year as they haven't been great in the past. Poor Charles- the lad just can't drive in the wet as evidenced by Ericsson beating him in wet yet again . Maybe Max is not as good as we thought in these conditions or maybe the car isn't as suited to wet conditions this year. Awesome from Sainz and STR too.

Out of the top 4 Vettel did his final run first, Raikkonen second, Bottas third and Hamilton fourth. Verstappen must of made an error on his last attempt as he apparently impeded Grosjean which would explain the dreadful times from both.

Great session today by Kimi. This video doesn't really bring it up, but already the lap in Q2 to save Q3 spot was super. The conditions were getting so bad i was sure Kimi would be out after Ferrari screwed up his strategy. And in the end, had it gotten a bit more rainy, he would have kept the pole. Also not really sure what happened on his last attempt, but he said he could have comfortably been on pole if he wasnt held up by a Haas. Great to see that kind of speed from him in the rain.

He has shown promise in every wet session, except the ones in 2018. Silverstone 2016, Brazil 2016, China 2017 & Monza qualy 2017. He was 2s faster per lap in the wet in F3 vs Ocon. He's good but it's too early to see if he's Ham level good. In 2018, the RB car struggles to get tire temps in quickly. Ric struggled in Hockenheim due to this issue, and today both complained about the same issue again. The Merc eats its tires due to heat problems in the dry, but in the wet this is a clear advantage over the others.

roland van der Vegt I'm not saying he's terrible in the wet, but everytime there's a hint of rain the commentators always say something like "Max is a wizard in the wet, he's gonna shine" or "if it gets wet look out for Max"... I know Lewis, Alonso, and people always forget about Kimi are spectacular in the rain... he's had a couple decent drives in the wet but I've seen those 3 do it consistently over years... I feel like they push Max on the audience too much because he's young and can bring in a different crowd, I get it...

He is a good raindriver seeing that he out qualified Vettel but I think it's no surprise people see max as a real rainmaster... I still don't get how he was the only one in Brazil taking the right lines... In qualifying yesterday that was all the commentators talked about again when max was on a flying lap. How he was again taking different lines than the others. Lewis on the podium in Brazil said he was going to watch max' race to see how he did it. Lewis and max are just both great rain drivers.. Interesting to go back and watch these rare wet qualis given the recent events where f1 basically don't race in heavy rain conditions, so here dries were better in q1, then conditions worsened, they had to go on inters in q2 and lost around 10 sec, and then full wets in q3 and lost another 10 sec, I'm surprised they let them run in q3, and I remember the conditions were worsening already through q2, there was a famous team radio by alonso, something like "the last sector is impossible, even if you put a rocketship we would still be 11th!".

They beat Kimi's time which he drove with used tires (his first tyre in Q3). Noone could beat Kimi in Q1 or2, he was always the fastest in the first few laps. Ofcourse some drivers took new tires and tried again but the raw speed was so much higher of Kimi. The same goes for Q3. He couldn't drive a lap with his new tires. He had a Car in front of him... Kimi's time was driven with his first tires. Iam a Mercedes fan as manufacturer and a Kimi fan as of driver. And i have to say that Mercedes was lucky that Kimi didn't got his lap in with his new tires. And for Ferrari; u were lucky that Kimi was absolutely on fire and got a lap in in Q2. At this point the rain was so heavy that NOONE did drive a fast lap. Everyone drove slower than before. Its was pure magic that he went to P8. This was more crazy then his P3 or whatever he did this season. Interesting that no-one noticed that.

I love the rain. It really shows you who’s the best driver. Hamilton is just too good for vettel when it comes purely to driving skills. Ferrari are faster but mercedes have the best driver. This makes it very a exciting championship.

Bruno Libbrecht What a bullshit comment. Ferrari have a car that underperforms in the wet and excels in the dry, Mercedes have a car that excels in the wet and keeps up in the dry. Yet when Mercedes does well in the wet it's, "pure skill" and when Ferrari does well in the dry it's, "because they have a faster car". Get your head out of your ass.

Proof once again that they don't have the "best" chasis on the grid. And it's not Renault their only problem. It reminds me of mclaren 2017 : "we have the best chasis", 2018 : "Errhh maybe not". Firemarioflower one race where the toro Rosso gambled on a wet weather set up and none of the top teams did 😂 Lewis has won every wet weather race since 2014, except one, at Hungary 14, where he started in the pit lane and he finished on the podium. Hate to break it to you, but Vettel simply can not match Lewis in the rain, and everybody knows that.

In the dry the mercs were a lot worse, although they did very well in this qualifying I don’t think they will do well in the race. Even though I support red bull, Ferrari will probably win tomorrow

Conditions changed. Ferrari got their timings wrong (fucking typical.) You wanted to be the final one to set a lap. But out of the top 4 Vettel did his final run first, Raikkonen second, Bottas third and Hamilton fourth. That made the difference.
