From 0:34 the woman's reaction is visceral and powerful. Her initial reaction of amazement turns to fear as she realises how close these guys are to the razor edge between life and death. Great reactions to see. She is the gem of this video.

A video doesn't do it justice, the first time something flies past you that close at 150mph you can feel it in your chest, it's like standing right in front of one of those massive rock concert amps designed to be loud from 200 yards away and suddenly they start blasting. It actually scares people who aren't used to it and not expecting it.

The endlessly fascinating Isle of Man races. That kind of speed on a public road, with spectators not behind fences and barriers but right next to the racers. It's an amazing event, really one of mankind's premier spectacles of any sort.

I'm not sure exactly why they do it; but they certainly don't do it to entertain us. More probably its because riding 200 mph on a razor's edge with death on each side makes you feel alive like nothing else; and we just happen to get to enjoy the show from the stands (or internet).

They banned the use of any selfie sticks as a result to this kinda moments. It might be a smashed phone or gopro for a person, but it could mean the life of a rider if they get it through the visor at 200 mph or get swirved into a house wall because of it.

Forget GP and even F1, Isle of Man TT is the real deal. GP/F1 have huge run-off areas, air-fencing to crash relatively unhurt. These speeds on two wheels trying to stay upright through normal streets lined with stone walls, houses, sheep and cliffs - now that’s racing. Hope to see John on the Norton next year.

LondonRider As much as i love the isle of man tt. Judging a race on the amount of deadly hazards it has is pretty stupid and childish.

I suppose most reactions likely come from the fact that cameras don’t pick up the real sense of speed, and any pre conceptions based on video footage are soon blown out the water. As a spectator, you’ll be hard pushed to even identify the rider/bike, as the ghostly sound tells you they’re nearing, but most of all, By being there, you’ll almost certainly become emotionally attached thereafter.

Stood on the rail at the first FIA Grand Prix at Indianapolis as the cars went down the front straight at 204 mph. If you have not been to a race in person GO cause you have no idea what a live in person race feels like.

When watching onboard TT ride, I alsmost forgot to breathe or blink cause I'm too afraid of missing a turn ! To me, one of the most difficult aspect of this race is the weather condition, most of all if it's sunny cause in the wooden area, there is too much contrast between darken and lighten area that your eyes struggle to adapte !

fadedsideways I'm pretty sure the superbike class is on par with GP technology and equipment. The top riders have full factory backing, just like the GP riders.

fadedsideways GP bikes would fall apart before completing a lap. They're built for the track mate. TT bikes are essentially production bikes e.g. built for the roads.

I wonder if it's something innate within us all, knowing that a fellow human being should not be traveling at those speeds, with little to no protection. Feeling that intensity so close to one increases adrenaline, even while sitting on a patch of grass on the side of the street. I'm awestruck just looking at the videos. Incredible courage demonstrated by these professionals.

Moving at such speeds where you know that the slightest mistake may mean instant death. Believe it or not, time seems to slow at such speeds. The feeling is absolutely blissful and no drug can come close. I know the addiction of speed but reslly wish i could do something like this once in my life

Sulby Straight, fastest bike through there this year was Peter Hickman on the 2018 Smiths BMW S1000RR at 195.1 mph on lap 1 of the Senior,so my speed-trap notes tell me.Yes they`ll be hitting 180+ in at least 1/2 doz other areas I can immediately think of.Fast road bikes,eg the Superstocks weren`t far off 190mph.Even the electric bike managed to hit 170mph,which was a tad faster than the Supersport 600s....these are the Sulby Straight speeds.Also Lightweight 650 twins,158mph and sidecars 151mph(not bad for 600cc two-up!).

Cronk-Y-Voddy straight is pretty fast, check out the Superstock TT, on my channel, bike was a blur when I pointed camera in front of me to me it wasn't just the speed and acceleration, but the air they push as well

It is absolutely epic the fast guys come through round 150 mph within a metre of you on the bank. 1:04 is that place . They are early on in the corner tho 🙏🏼stay safe and RIP Dan Kneen and all other riders claimed by doing what they loved ❤️
